and why doesn't it work? When I go to other websites they split it into nice easy-to-see chunks. When I try to read a big thread round here, it dies after a bit and tells me it's "out of memory". Surely it's not difficult to put in little breaks so that my phone knows where it's going? Or is it REALLY difficult?

I've had that problem too. As soon as a thread gets above about 80 answers it fails to load due to "unexpected error", even if I had my settings at "show last 50 (or 20)" back when we could do that. It's one of the reasons I've decided internet access isn't a critical factor when I do my upgrade.

I sometimes check it on my Treo 600, which has more memory than the typical cell phone....so that's why it generally works. Doesn't allow you to log in properly, though, so always have to use a different name/email to do it. If you can log in properly from your phone, you can set your ILX settings to show only the last 20 or whatever posts, which would help. But I somehow doubt you could log in properly, either.

Maybe if you change your settings on ilx to hide images -- maybe that will use less memory.
But yeah, you guys are nerds.
