changing your opinion of others?

I suppose when you read ILX, you form opinions of the other posters? Have you ever formed an extremely negative opinion of someone because you only ever see threads where they gibber like a mentalist (i.e. say things you disagree with) but then eventually you see posts from them on other threads you realise they seem actually to be quite a nice person?

all the time.

Yes, lots; also because people do change how they behave. This can sometimes go the other way too, where you go off people.

the other thing - are you more likely to feud with people you haven't met, or does meeting people merely enhance the feuding experience?

There are a bunch of people that I initially started out liking and now think are complete chuckleheads, and a lot of people that used to annoy me a lot who turned out not to be so bad after all. I guess it evens out.

All the time.

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt at first, so for me it goes in the other direction. I started out thinking J*hn D*hlem was normal enough (for a Yankees fan) until he migrated from I Love Baseball to ILX.

Oh, he's okay in a "crying for help" kinda way.

My answer would be involved.

Another yes.

As for the second question, I am more likely to feud with someone I haven't met as usually once I meet them I find them to be fine and this tends to stick in my mind for when future disagreements occur.

I have a hard time meeting people and disliking them. Unless they're just a really big asshole, which few people are.

Naturally.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

what about people who mean well but you find really annoying?

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

haha Those are the people that annoy me most!

I never settle my opinions on most of you, apart from IRL, where I'm fairly certain about my opinions.

I run hot and cold at the drop of a hat but fortunately my attention span only lasts five minutes.

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Not really
