Ok, i never saw the first one, but damned if I'll miss this one!

NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons (Jackson), fresh off the success of his last renegade recruitment, once again finds himself in need of an outsider. Gibbons and his new agent (Ice Cube) must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by Willem Dafoe, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation's capital.

Hah, I think it looks kinda cool. I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of the script -- I thought the first one was somewhere approaching brilliantly idiotic, and hampered only by its reliance upon the Bond series which it claimed to subvert. This one -- hell, no. Ice Cube will storm any motherfucker in a blue uniform.

HA HA HA ! HE WEARS A BLUE UNIFORM THE WHOLE TIME ! I MAKE ME LAUGH !

Culturally speaking, I'm not sure if this role is incremental progress or regression manufactured on a massive scale.

Also: I will see this on opening day.

incremental progress or regression manufactured on a massive scale

latebloomer (latebloomer), Thursday, 10 February 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

I have (swear to god) class this afternoon with the guy who wrote ANACONDA and ANACONDAS. I should tell him your thought, vahid, totally devoid of context. "Excuse me, Jack, but (ha ha) the concept of "progress" or "regression" are meaningless post-ANACONDA." Just to see what he says. Man, would that I had bigger balls.

Can't wait for the snarky movie-crit responses on your school board to THAT one. ;-)

jack: giant animals, whether literal ("anacondas"), imaginary ("flintstones 2") or figurative ("legal eagles"), play a predominant role in your ouevre ... could you discuss the tension between menacing and benevolent representations (do they serve as a locus for the expression of freudian social anxiety?) in the context of your work, with particular reference to "turner and hooch"?
