I've been pricing Dysons, but even $500 is too much for a vacuum.

Curious George Rides a Republican (Rock Hardy), Friday, 11 February 2005 01:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha, I just went vacuum shopping. Like 5 minutes ago. We had been rolling with a $50 vacuum for a year and moved up to a $100 model tonight, and we were marvelling at the fact that one could spend $500 on a vacuum.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 11 February 2005 01:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I have spent less than 2300 for a good used car. That thing got a hemi in it?

jim wentworth (wench), Friday, 11 February 2005 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Even those mega fancy Nilfisk water filter jobbies arent up to a thousand! I'm baffled. Is it an industrial cleaner?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 11 February 2005 04:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe it was marked down from 17995

Aaron A., Friday, 11 February 2005 04:10 (twenty-one years ago)

how did your mother get to the year 2300?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 11 February 2005 04:20 (twenty-one years ago)

now it all makes sense!

Aaron A., Friday, 11 February 2005 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Um, most good vacuum cleaners are priced at anywhere from $100 - $150, but the higher-end models can and do end up costing about $4,000 - $5,000. Yeah, you heard/read right -- $4,000 - $5,000. These are the super-duper ones with half a billion features and special add-on doodahs that would separate them from the rest of the pack.

Still, though, even if I were in the market for something GREAT and extremely long-lasting as far as vacuums go, I'd probably spend 1/5 of what your mother spent. No more than that.

Surreal Addiction (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 11 February 2005 04:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I bought one for £25 the other month. It sucks up dust fine thank you very much.

Anthony your mom clearly has too much money and should give you some.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Friday, 11 February 2005 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

the thing is she doesnt have v. much money at all, and its on this like 10 year payment plan...and i am too broke to go to england for school this summer

anthony, Friday, 11 February 2005 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Yikes. It's probably a Rainbow. Ripoffs.

My dad is obsessed with his new Dyson. He got it for less than $300, I believe. And even that seems a bit much.
