Is it acceptable social behavior to wear eyeliner on a dinner date with your GIRLfriend?

I wear it onstage all the time and she likes it. Is this something that should be left for the stage?

Also: I plucked my eyebrows. Make of this what you will.

There's nothing wrong with men plucking their eyebrows. Especially if they'd otherwise be monobrowed.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Saturday, 12 February 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

inside-out

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 12 February 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Surely you mean inside-out? Or back-to-front *and* upside down?

To answer the original question: the most important thing to remember, probably, is not to wear *more* makeup than your girlfriend.

caitlin (caitlin), Saturday, 12 February 2005 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah ... if yer gary numan.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 12 February 2005 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah i meant inside out.

dammit i don't have to leave for an hour and a half. why did i get ready this early.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Saturday, 12 February 2005 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

The most important thing is being sure it doesn't look crap. Anything else goes, unless you're a slave to convention.

Hari should play Phil Lynott in the biopic.

Hari this is a silly idea. You should keep Stage Hari EXOTIC.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 13 February 2005 15:16 (twenty-one years ago)

HOTT. I used to make all my boyfriends wear makeup.

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 13 February 2005 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Of course it's okay. Me, nowadays I wear makeup *only* when I'm going on a dinner date or a fancy party, because that's when I want to look the best.

Afterwards, invite her for a motorcycle ride to a lake and goad her into skinnydipping solo via an elaborate but concise tale that involves you giving the lake a (false) multi-syllabic name. She'll love it.

i used to work with some dork that wore eyeliner. we used to call him Guy-liner and absolutely ridicule him behind his back for that, and many other things. kid also wore pointy shoes, jeans, a white button-down, and a blue blazer to work, and we worked at a casual college bar. he's my only personal experience with dudes wearing eyeliner. I can't say if that's all hand in hand as a general rule, but I sure wouldn't take any cues from that chump.
