Do you have one? What kind? What did you get this morning?

I, of course, have a Powerpuff Girls (available from all good retailers, Poundstretcher and Tesco). All of the chcolates have fallen out of the plastic ino the bottom, so I get two surprises everyday: I get the picture in the plastic, and then whatever's on the chocolate flavour chocolate that falls out when I shake it. Hurrah shoddy cheaply-produced hijacking of religious tradition! I notice "Advent" has been declared too secular for our multi-ethnic festival (=Festival of cash. I have a Psyduck Pokemon on top of my tree as a pastiche of the commercialisation and merchandising of... Ah fuck it, it just looks cute), so mine is a "Christmas Countdown Calendar". Which is so stuffily areligious, wouldn't it be great if some wag had slipped in the name of an obscure holy icon? I'd chortle, certainly.

My dad insisted on getting a 'tasteful', trad advent calendar, so I'm boycotting it in favour of the AC we got for the cat. He gets little fishy treats every day!

£0.99 at poundstretcher because i. it was labelled wrong (says £1.99), ii. she rang it wrong, iii. it is already Dated Goods!! Power Puff = rowr Puff!!

Positive side effect of the Millenium = advent calendars now go through to New Years* (MORE CHOCOLATE)

*bah! in my day, you were lucky if you got chocolate on Christmas Day etc

A sort of arty crafty one (maybe it's from Paperchase, I dunno)...it features a Reindeer flying over snow capped roofs.

I think I shall buy one with chocolates for work. And I won't have to share them, coz I have a whole library to myself!

A dairy milk one. It's the first one I've had in years and I was really excited as I opened the first window today (and it took me *ages* to find it!!!)

What's the point in advent calendars without choccy?

I was at the children's BAFTAs last night and we all got a free lego advent calendar! Each day has a small bag with a dozen or so bits which you make into a something or other (the 2nd was a snowman, aaw). I'm hoping by Christmas Eve I'll have a touching if chunky yuletide scene.

My mum bought me a Purple Ronnie Countdown to New Year calendar with chocs behind each door and a Helpful New Year Tip - for Adults Only. This surely ranks as one of the most cringe inducing gifts ever with the exception of the chocs part and the fact that she means well, bless her. Whether I make it to 31 Dec without guzzling all the chocs is questionable. So far the adult hints have been: When men get drunk all they think about is sex and Make Sure you wash Down Below regularly. Both amusingly illustrated of course.

Do you really want to be eating chocolate instantly after reading how you should wash down below properly?

Is anyone else BITTERLY (and if anyone makes any sudden movements VIOLENTLY, grr) disappointed that the Powerpoifs don't even appear on the "Powerpoif Girl" chocolates? I shall write an angry letter demanding my 99p back.

Dude, I'm officially jealous.

I didn't buy one this year (avoiding chocolate), and this thread has now made me weep bitter tears of regret about it. I need chocolate and powerpuffs!
