Opinions on Urinals

So many items grace the insides of a urinal - pungent cakes, ice, the occasional wad of paper towel.

I thought it was good that the urinal I visited tonight had a rubber drain cover that said "Say No to Drugs" because I could piss all over it.

YUCK. I can not use a urinal unless I'm incredibly incredibly drunk.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 06:42 (twenty years ago)

I like the kind that stretch to the floor as opposed to the ones that hang on the wall.

I was hoping this thread would be about opinions actually found scrawled on urinals.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 06:56 (twenty years ago)

yea I am definately of the opinion that ones that stretch to the floof are the shiznit

lukey (Lukey G), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 10:09 (twenty years ago)

I really don't like urinals. I'm not sure why, but I tend to pee at a funny angle - when I use them, unless I go very slowly, I tend to leak everywhere. I need to sit down.

I'm so glad I am female.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 10:28 (twenty years ago)

i prefer single units fixed to the wall. i keep thinking how neat it would be to have one in my house someday. obviously this is completely wrong.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 10:36 (twenty years ago)

Years ago one terrible day at school, I discovered that someone had blocked the drain bit in one of the urinals (the ones that stretch to the floor) with what appeared to be a whole, now very soggy, sandwich of somekind.

Chriddof (Chriddof), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:22 (twenty years ago)

I have always dreamed of installing a trough in the patio.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

I like the floor-length ones, but never understood the whole "step-up-on-the-little-platform" deal you see in Australia. I'm also a big, big fan of motion-detecting flushing.

DUD: TROUGHS.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:38 (twenty years ago)

All depends on the trough, though. AS long as it's deep enough and drains well, it's fine. At the little Irish bar down the street from my flat, there's a trough in the men's room that they fill with ice, early in the evening and I still enjoy melting it.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:41 (twenty years ago)

some bars in san francisco have mirrors right above the troughs i discovered one fateful evening.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:45 (twenty years ago)

In what part of town?

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:45 (twenty years ago)

I am 6'2" and yesterday I saw a urinal which was too high for me to use. It baffled me.

The stepladder is extra.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:58 (twenty years ago)

You sure that it wasn't really an empty salad bar?

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 00:58 (twenty years ago)

can someone explain the phenomenon of dumping ice in urinals? I mean its fun and everything, but what does it accomplish?

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 01:14 (twenty years ago)

It saves you the trouble of getting your urine below room temperature.

Who did release magic family out from the base of $499 (deangulberry), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 01:19 (twenty years ago)

I always figured that it was an easy method of ice disposal, if there happened to be too much on hand.

derrick (derrick), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 01:32 (twenty years ago)

TOO MUCH ICE?!

WHAT WORLD IS THIS!?!?!?!

Aaron A., Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:29 (twenty years ago)

don't like the tall urinals cos it seems less private(the wall mounted ones you can kind of thrust your crotch into it if you don't want doods sizing you up((cos I'm modest that's why))) and in a high school locker room we found a big green dookie in one.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 03:07 (twenty years ago)

wtf no art lovers on the urinal thread?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 03:13 (twenty years ago)

That is not art, JOREL!

okay, good.

I am 6'2" and yesterday I saw a urinal which was too high for me to use. It baffled me.

I'm 6'5", and I dread walking into a restroom and finding only the "young man's" urinal available. The angle is all wrong, I always get piss on my knees...

Dan M. (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 05:59 (twenty years ago)

Well, I know somewhere to piss in LA that you will enjoy.

Who did release magic family out from the base of $499 (deangulberry), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 06:01 (twenty years ago)

I like Duchamp, fuxors.

Apparently the men's loos on the 50th floor of some hotel complex in Melb city are attached to a GLASS WALL, so you can pee away while viewing the city lights. Wave willy to the people on the street!

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 06:15 (twenty years ago)

i like trayce, fuxors.
