Yeah, feel free to zonk me w/ the USE SEARCH meme, but I'm not in the mood to trudge through the archives to find these damn things, so blah.
So - A FRIEND OF MINE is co-oping at this company, doing ASP & SQL Server stuff. The database he's working on is being transferred to another machine in the next month. The person spearheading this transfer wants to keep tabs on my friend, his supervisor, and other folks tangentially involved in the maintenance of this DB. However, instead of using the wonderful functionality of e-mail to keep folks in the loop & keep everything on track, he decides to schedule half-hour meetings twice a week for the next month so all of them (all FOUR of them) can talk on the phone for 10-15 minutes about the status of this transfer. Never mind that it takes 10-15 minutes to get everyone on the phone. Never mind that the guy usually just needs to ask one question to one person and have that be the meeting. And never mind that these half-hour blocks get moved around more than an air hockey puck. Nope - it's all about sitting at a desk on the phone listening to hold music while waiting for the organizer of the meeting to dial in. Wheeeeee.
