oh, i thought you had like evidence or something. don't waste our time if you don't.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 05:13 (twenty-one years ago)

LOL wasting time, as if that isn't all this website is. Informative, often amusing, and often thought-provoking, but at the end of the day it is just a way of wasting (spending if you like) time.

Paul Kelly (kelly), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I think stence meant "don't waste our time wasting our time in an otherwise more fun and constructive manner"... though I'll let him speak for his statement. The thread impetus was really dumb.

donut debonair (donut), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 05:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Fair enough......so Jenny have you any proof? Conspiracy theorists to thread.

Paul Kelly (kelly), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 06:00 (twenty-one years ago)

hahaha as if the cia does anything but sharpen pencils and stare out there windows at the white house growling 'someday...someday...'

We have drones flying over Iran and we've been grumbling about the Syrians, who have troops in Lebanon. Hariri's funeral has turned into an anti-Syrian rally here. I do wonder what are spooks are up to over there.

Michael White (Hereward), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, I didn't even know Hariri died, holy shit! Thanks for the link dude.

If it were possible to get Syria's ladel out of Lebanon's soup, quite a beautiful broth it would be.

known vaginatarian (nickalicious), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

This article on the subject is interesting: http://www.guardian.co.uk/syria/story/0,13031,1423311,00.html .

However, my own view is that Hariri was probably murdered by the Syrian secret services, in a foolish over-playing of their hand. But it is so hard to be sure, and it's not as though the Phalange or other groups have not used car-bombs before.

Nickalicious, even with Syria's ladel, Lebanon's soup is quite beautiful indeed. I recommend the country highly as a holiday destination.

One thing I was struck by, though, is how Lebanon seems to have only five political families... the current interior minister is one Suleiman Franjieh, presumably a grandson of former President Suleiman Franjieh. And I thought Ireland was bad for this kind of thing.

Your search - "cia behind the beirut bombing" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.

The whole video is insane. I thought it was a building on fire, but the explosion itself looked straight out of a sci-fi movie.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 16:39 (five years ago)

Apparently it was an explosion in a fireworks warehouse?! wtf would you have one of those in a city?

Gerneten-flüken cake (jed_), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 16:39 (five years ago)

Hadn't seen that particular theory, others claiming it was a rocket storage depot.

Thicc Nhat Wanh (rip van wanko), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 16:45 (five years ago)

Do we have to use this particular thread given the title?

Matt DC, Tuesday, 4 August 2020 16:45 (five years ago)

good point

Thicc Nhat Wanh (rip van wanko), Tuesday, 4 August 2020 16:47 (five years ago)

I'm going to lock this - feel free to start one with less of a crank title.
