Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:00 (twenty years ago)

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:01 (twenty years ago)

Not for me! For the lady in the attic of the spooky house.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

Who's Adam Behave, some twenties porn star?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

shut up Tuomas, it was an accident! :)

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

..er what was an "accident"?!?

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:11 (twenty years ago)

Tiit Behave!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:12 (twenty years ago)

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

Poor CAROL. I feel sorry for CAROL.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

(Do you ever feel sorry for the poor googlers who use the "send answers through e-mail" option in hope of getting useful information?)

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

I feel sorry for anyone who unthinkingly posts their phone number on the internet.

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

Yes, this isn't helping CAROL

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

Haha, x-post.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

CAROL's probably the sweetest lady.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

Am I missing something? Why did she entitle the thread "NONE"?

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:20 (twenty years ago)

....and i was just joking about the shut up and if Tuomas doesn't know this (i think he does) then he does now.

So you're saying that little colon and parenthese people apply after a sentence means they're joking?

My god, this explains so much! ;)

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:20 (twenty years ago)

I never knew you were so sarcastic.....I like that.

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:21 (twenty years ago)

perhaps NONE is the default for when you don't type anything?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:21 (twenty years ago)

I should try it and see, but the mods might start to despise me.

kate/papa november (papa november), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:22 (twenty years ago)

I think she typed NONE because she didn't have a title, and she didn't know enough to put "YOUR FUCKING WOMAN'S WEEKLY"

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

maybe CAROL read a sheepfuxor thread title and got confused.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

"THIS IS THE THREAD WHERE I SELL PROTOHIPSTER MAGAZINES"

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

I never knew you were so sarcastic.....I like that.

Hmm, maybe this is one of the things that doesn't filter through the InterWeb, especially when posting in a foreign tongue.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

Either way I'd be interested to know what content these old Womens Weekly mags have.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

LYSOL DOUCHE!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

(Look's like the "e-mail answers" option is off now. I guess she found out we're not Dear Abby...)

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)

Gentle Reader -

LYSOL DOUCHE!

-Abby

Not Dear Abby, indeed.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:49 (twenty years ago)

I think lysol douche is from the '40s and '50s . I don't know if corporations in the '20s were using psychological violence against womens to push health hazard products on them. maybe.

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:13 (twenty years ago)

Excuse, if you please, my Beehiveior (or not, if you pleasen't)
but that "CAROL DARON" really does, kinda, sound like, sorta "Marcy Darcy"...

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

In my school there was a kid called Tyrkkä Äkkijyrkkä.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:22 (twenty years ago)

Are there rude words that rhyme with jyrkkä in Finnish? I mean, that's a pretty funny name to begin with, but fitted into an insulting couplet it would be killer.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:32 (twenty years ago)

Hmm, I can't think of any, but the word "äkkijyrkkä" itself means "very steep". The kid's mom was the famous artist Miina Äkkijyrkkä who changed her second name to Äkkijyrkkä from Loiva ("slanting").

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)

so now the moderators helpfully removed the phone number how am i supposed to call her to help her value her magazines now?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:27 (twenty years ago)

"LADY! A MAGAZINE IS FOR LIFE, NOT ONLY FOR 25 DEC, 1926."

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

AntILXques Roadshow

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

I want the magazines! As long as they're not moldy. I'd totally be willing to spend like, $40 on them.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

(DING!-DONG! the end's so happppppy!)
