ok, so i'm off to newcastle for a wedding tomorrow. i'm planning on wearing a black and white floral dress (will try to find a pic to post), which is sleeveless.
it's somewhat casual-- no church part, it's in the football stadium (not on the pitch, in a banquet room overlooking it), but the bride and groom are doing the full dressed up thing.
so my question, considering that it's bloody freezing right now, is what to wear over it? i've got a black wrap that's velvet on one side and satin on the other, but was worried that black velvet would be too much for a daytime wedding (although it *is* winter, and not a lot of velvet)
otherwise i'll end up wearing one of my black cardigans...either a chunky one with bracelet sleeves and oversized buttons, or a cashmere blend one with sparkle buttons.
i know this is a silly question, but i'd like a second or third opinion...what would you wear?

the black wrap sounds fine, as long as it's understated.

I think the velvet-satin wrap would be good, unless you think it overpowers the dress. If so, pop down Oxford St and pick up a cheapashmina for a couple of quid instead?
Cashmere cardigan with sparkly buttons sounds nice, but might take it a bit too casual. Eh, I dunno.

Yeah I like the sound of the wrap but can you take pictures of yourself in the different options? This thread needs to be more like Clueless!

if i had more time tonight, i could try on all the options, i'll see what time i get back!
ooh, just thought of a justification for the wrap-- they're both total goths, so i can say i thought it was a goth wedding! (they're having a cake that looks like the LOTR castle, as far as i know)

Your dress is very pretty, colette. I second the wrap.
