Blind and Gay

this is interesting and something i have thought about a fair bit in the past. it throws up various questions about the extent to which our sexuality is influenced by what we see in front of us. I'm not exactly sure where i stand on the whole nature/nurture angle on homosexulaity but i'm pretty sure that i wasn't "born" gay, maybe i'm wrong, but i'm a pretty visually-oriented person and i thought i was gay, to a large extent, just because i like the look of men. reading this has made me question that, to an extent.

his account of going into a gay bar for the first time and being "basically rendered deaf and blind because of the noise level" and trying to work up the courage to talk to the person next to him, someone he has no ideas about beforehand, is heartbreaking.

(AaronHz to thread. Um, not cause he's blind. Or gay.)

Thanks for posting this, Col! Very interesting and something I've never really given any thought to.

A hearing friend of mine dated a deaf guy for a while. His stories about the guy were terribly sad too. I believe there is a relatively high profile gay/deaf support network/community though. I guess assumed such a thing exists for sight impaired gay people as well, but obv while it helps it still must be very difficult.

"I still dream of a special friend who will love me, and accept me and Harley as a team."

Ouch, it hurts to read that last line.
