People eating fruit on elevators: C or D?

I'm riding the elevator in my apartment building, barely reconciled to being awake (or maybe even alive), and some guy next to me is noisily eating an apple. Very annoying.

(Unfortunately, there's really no stairway, unless I want to take a very poorly lit fire exit.)

I sat opposite this man on the bus who ate a pear really messily and noisily then chucked the remains on the floor. It was gross. He was ugly too, which made it worse.

Oranges bother me the most probably. I don't like strangers eating oranges near me. I don't like eating fruit around strangers. Now some might consider this neurotic. . .

I do sometimes eat street food on the street though, but I try to do it discretely.

I've been meaning to revive this thread for over a year. I eat apples on elevators sometimes. I usually keep an apple in the office refrigerator and then eat it as I leave work, to tide me over until I have dinner. I don't think it's a big deal. There's never more than one or two other people in the elevator.

Having pondered carefully on this ever since last February, I can now say that I would prefer to eat a banana in a lift than an apple, because they're quieter. I don't like eating in public in general, and if the food was noisy as well I'd be paralysed with self-consciousness. I don't care what other people do though, so long as they don't spill it on me and it's not anything too stinky.
