My wife and I wanna go somewhere in midMarch for a week.
We live in the midwest (more precisely, southern Ontario).
Warm and relatively cheap would be good.
Preferably not sringbreakish.

Try Door County Wisconsin. The place is gorgeous. A nice bed & breakfast could be found cheaply. The drive from Ontario might be a bitch though.

We'll be in Chicago in April. How far is it for there?

I've never been to Florida. Is there such a place there which is warm and away from the action, or is it all action during March break. What about Texas or New Mexico or somewhere like that?

Door County is a four to five hour drive north of Chitown, I think. Could be longer. The Florida Everglades offer many nice spots plenty out of the way. Texas deserves no tourist business until the Bush is out of office. Think about The Petrified Forest/Painted Desert and The Grand Canyon in New Mexico/Arizona. The Grand Canyon of course abounds with tourists year-round, but it will blow your fucking mind.

We flew to LasVegas last March, hopped in a car to go to the Grand Canyon. Just like the pictures, except MY MIND WAS BLOWN!

I guess to be fair to Texas, Austin is a great town to have fun in. Around spring break they have their South by Southwest music conference. There's nothing like it--a million bands at a thousand bars a week straight. 4th Ave. and 6th Ave. can be fun any night though. And Austin has its own Coyote Ugly with smoking hot babes serving liquor and dancing on the bar.

I dunno. Is Bermuda too expensive?

Never went anywhere tropical in my life, so I wouldn't know if its too expensive. Do any of you have experience with this? Recommendations or "to avoids"?

ohio, gorgeous, nice people, good food, decent art---and easy to get to from ontario

Being 600 mi. due east of North Carolina, Bermuda's not really tropical. Pretty small, haven't been there, but it seems a bit off season in March and might be cheap - plus it's the ocean. That would do it for me.

Been though Ohio 5 or so times over the last couple of years.
