My freezer died: what do I eat first?

So my freezer stopped working over the weekend, and by the time I was aware of this, everything was pretty much thawed out. I turned the fridge to its coldest setting and packed stuff in there, but that ain't going to refreeze anything. So what might last? I know I'll have to throw a fair bit away (I've already binned or eaten some stuff), but what will be safe over the next few days? Anyone have any idea? Contents I've so far kept:
Pizzas (one cellophane wrapped, one just in a cardboard box)
Lasagnes (plastic tray with cellophane covers)
Beef grills (cellophane wrapped)
Sausages (open)
Toad in the hole (cardboard box)
Various kinds of cod in breadcrumbs or batter (cardboard boxes)
Crispy pancakes with minced beef and onion filling (cardboard box)
Beef and onion pies (cardboard box)
Chicken in breadcrumbs (cardboard box)

Beef grills (cellophane wrapped) are most likely to go wrong, than anything that has uncooked meat in close proximity to cheese.

Ditch the fish, you don't want to take chances with that stuff.

The children, to spare them the suffering of their ultimate starvation. Or the lasagnes, if no children are available.

Out here on the tundra we just put stuff on the back porch until late April. What's your outside temps like, Martin?

I don't have a porch, sadly.

But you do have windowsills, luckily?
(I've used that option in the past m'self)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

Cardboard boxes on windowsills in rainy weather doesn't sound a great plan to me.

Toad in the hole is a British dish, comprising sausages embedded in yorkshire pudding, which is a batter thingy with similar make-up to pancakes, but it fluffs up more.

If I stop posting sometime this week, I have probably died through pushing my luck.

Can you buy a cheap cooler, Martin, and some ice and put that in the fridge?

I wouldn''t try to re-freeeze any of the food that that has thawed but use it for future items until you get a new fridge.

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Well, it's only days until I get my new freezer, so if I have to throw out £10 of food, that's no disaster. I ate another lasagne tonight, and feel okay, but I might make that the last of those.

Cooking food resets the bacteria-o-meter, so you might try cooking it all then putting it in an ice chest.
