Taking sides: Milhouse vs Ralph

It’s easily Milhouse.
“Everything’s coming up Milhouse” > “Me fail English? That's unpossible”;

“This is the greatest game ever, and I’ve only entered my name: Thrillhouse!” *WELCOME THRILLHO* > “Super Nintendo Chalmers”;

“Remember when I had some goldfish, and you killed the goldfish and told me I didn’t have any? But why did I have the bowl Bart? WHY DID I HAVE THE BOWL?” > “And when the doctor said I didn't have worms any more, that was the happiest day of my life”; and of course

“But my mom says I’m cool” > “So… do you like… stuff?”

Kirk and Chief Wiggum are both amusing, but Kirk + Luann + Pyro is much superior to Chief Wiggum + Sarah

I'd have to go Milhouse as well.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

Milpool

webber (webber), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

Way to go, Moon-Milhouse!

webber (webber), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

So this is what it feels like when doves cry!

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 01:29 (twenty years ago)

Thrillho for me

charleston charge (chaki), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 01:49 (twenty years ago)

There's only two lines ever uttered by Ralph Wiggum that come anywhere near Milhouse's grand patheticness, and those are "I ated the purple berries. IT TASTES LIKE BURNING." and "I bent my Wookie". Milhouse is the classic lame foil to Bart's mischievious protagonist.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 01:57 (twenty years ago)

I always hated how much I sympathized with Milhouse when he shouted (wrt his glasses): "I NEED THOSE TO LIVE!".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 02:02 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, "I bent my wookie" rulz. I thought it would be closer than this, Ralph seems to be a pretty popular character with most people

webber (webber), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:09 (twenty years ago)

Oh, Milhouse doesn't count!

Lisa: I suppose I could just skip college and marry Milhouse.
Milhouse: I know this is a fantasy, but I'll take it.
Lisa: Nah, forget it.
Milhouse: Nooo! I'll never be this happy again!

Ralph is whom all the hipster fans like, ergo horribly overrated.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:14 (twenty years ago)

Much as we all love Ralf, course it's Milhouse. The real challenge is between Milhouse and his dad; or maybe between Milhouse and Ute.

thee music mole, Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:16 (twenty years ago)

I mean, Ralph. But hey, we love Ralf too!

my absolute favourite ralph quote: "my cat's breath smells like catfood"

i don't really compare millhouse and ralph, they're both hilarious in their own special way

NO
(xpost)

gem (trisk), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:26 (twenty years ago)

I choose Ralph, precisely because of "My cat's breath smells like cat food", which used to be my non-sequitur of choice when attempting to shut down what appeared to me to be a pointless argument.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:29 (twenty years ago)

HAHA OMG SIMPSONS DORKS LIKE ME, WHAT AM I STILL POSTING HERE FOR??

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 03:29 (twenty years ago)

Kirk rulez all:

"Can I borrow a feeling?
Can you lend me a jar of love?
Hurtin' hearts need some healin'
Take my hand with your glove of love"

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 04:23 (twenty years ago)

Yes, that one episode singlehandedly stopped me from ever writing a song for a woman I loved again.

thee music mole, Tuesday, 22 February 2005 04:24 (twenty years ago)

WE'RE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS HERE, PEOPLE.

"I'm calling Daddy!"

Matt Chesnut, Tuesday, 22 February 2005 05:58 (twenty years ago)

Milhouse.

"so this is what it's like...when doves cry!"

latebloomer: HE WHOM DUELS THE DRAFGON IN ENDLESS DANCE (latebloomer), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 06:03 (twenty years ago)

Milhouse by A MILE.

I'm all for absurdist non-sequiturs, but all of Ralph's lines sound they were written so they could later be quoted. I'll choke the next person I hear say "my cat's breath smells like cat food."

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 06:24 (twenty years ago)

(haha, I wrote that before I read Dan's post!!!)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 06:24 (twenty years ago)

ralph almost seems like a different character in that old valentine's day episode - he actually says things that AREN'T "ralph wiggum lines"!

anyway i vote milhouse, cos "can i borrow a feeling" is the saddest moment on television ever.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 06:41 (twenty years ago)

Milhouse is a non-entity. Whenever he's on I swear my eyes just pass right over him. Most worthless character and Dud. Ralph wins by default (and a couple great lines).

Dan I., Tuesday, 22 February 2005 08:18 (twenty years ago)

It's much like the way people's eyes must pass right over me in real life I guess!

Dan I., Tuesday, 22 February 2005 08:21 (twenty years ago)

It says I Choo-Choose you nad there's a picture of a train.

Davel (Davel), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 08:26 (twenty years ago)

It Says lets Bee friends and there is a picture of a Bee on it.

I though you'd like that Ralph.

Davel (Davel), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 08:27 (twenty years ago)

"this is where i come to cry"

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 10:30 (twenty years ago)

Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and then the baby looked at me.

Nelson: Bart is pee!
Ralph: I made Bart in my pants!

Vote Ralph

(I did like this Milhouse one - I'm not a nerd, Bart. Nerds are smart)

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 10:42 (twenty years ago)

hmm, tricky choice. Millhouse in camo gear on the episode where they steal the lemon tree was a scream but "Super Nintendo Charmers" is the funniest line the Simpsons has ever produced. So I dunno.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 10:43 (twenty years ago)

Milhouse, by a fair stretch, but yes, Super Nintendo Chalmers is right up there with "...regicide!" as best line.
