Operating under the assumption it is neither cheese nor food. The description via the photo below seems insufficient:

By the way, not every package of Velveeta has been aged 40 years.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

Velveeta in its modern guise?

Velveeta used for nefarious purposes (NSFW, depending.)

Mark, that *is* a camera! Unfortunately, Velveeta does not come from a camera.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 23:04 (twenty years ago)

"Say cheese!" Get it? Ho ho!

Edible oils!

There's a huge painting at a bar I frequent of Colonel Sanders (of KFC fame) handing a package of Velveeta to the Monsters Inc characters. The Velveeta is surprisingly photorealistic.

The same artist also did some sort of painting of Zappa as Jesus with the Powerpuff Girls.

mike h. (mike h.), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 23:50 (twenty years ago)

"Pasteuized Process Cheese Spread" i think is about %20 milkfat. The rest is whatever they use to make it "smooth".

The Argunaut (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

Your search - Zappa as Jesus with the Powerpuff Girls - did not match any documents.

:( :( :(

it's just a more gelatinous form of cheese whiz... it's not dairy-free, as some vegans may think.

I admit Velveeta is probably the most artificial... compound that I enjoy consuming.

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Thursday, 24 February 2005 11:25 (twenty years ago)

Is Velveeta the same as the aussie Kraft cheddar in the blue box, then?

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 24 February 2005 11:37 (twenty years ago)

seven years pass...

back in high school, velveeta shells and cheese was my go-to afternoon snack -- my friend and i would split a box and eat it out of the pot with the velveeta mixed in. it's still a guilty pleasure for me.

I made mac and cheese for Christmas dinner that included velveeta. Had to buy a 2 pound block and was saddled with almost a pound leftover. So I made rotel queso and we had dirtbag nachos for lunch. Damn it was good.
