Classic all the way for liberalizing immigration, bringing in
national Medicare, legalizing homosexuality, beefing up the CBC,
raising Third World concerns, standing up to Quebec and the States,
being a worthwhile personality, and having the balls to go all the
way with martial law instead of the half-assed erosion of civil
liberties we get these days. And for shoving a load of patronage
appointments onto John Turner's shoulders and actually getting him to
carry them out. Maybe a little dubious on economics. Would be
considered a Communist in today's political climate.
