When I was in Edinburgh for a little while as a teenager, my older sister's boyfriend told me about some street called "co-burn" where I should go record shopping. I kept deciding to go do so, but I couldn't remember the name he had said. Finally he explained that the street name was spelled "Cockburn," and I never forgot it again. Ah, adolescence.

stephen morris, Monday, 28 February 2005 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure if there are ten streets in my town.

East Hill Rd.
West Hill Rd.
Main St.
East Main St.
I live on North Jay. It used to be Upper Main so that counts x2
Dominion Ave. for our Canadian friends, but it's misspelled! Dominon
Cemetery Rd. another misspelling cemetary
Geraldine Avenue - has a nice ring to it
Skunk Hollow Rd.
Veilleux Rd. impossible for anglos to pronounce

I truly envy the next town over for their Holy Moly Rd.

Cathedral Parkway is an obscurity?

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 28 February 2005 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

1. Cracker Barrel Lane (winner)

This is sad, but in how many American cities or towns is there a "Wal-Mart Avenue"?

Seriously. I live in Wally's homestate, and there's one in every town, usually a side road that comes off of the main access road from the interstate. In Little Rock, Wal-Mart road leads into an empty parking lot where Wal*Mart used to have a store. Now it's just an empty building. The green street sign at the light remains.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Monday, 28 February 2005 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

**Cathedral Parkway is an obscurity?**

Busted! That was a ringer (110th Street). substitute Old Broadway.
