I have all the admiration in the world for folks that run film fests. I help with one and it's hard, hard work to get it all set and green lit...

Imagine you have your own one - tell me about it.

Zarr, Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it really so hard, Calum?

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:12 (twenty-one years ago)

He's shy, you know.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:13 (twenty-one years ago)

It's pretty hard. Harder than being Ned in a doughnut shop? Unlikely. But still very hard.

Zarr, Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, my festival would be called FILMS I FUCKING HATED and it would look like this:

MIllion Dollar Baby
Lost In Translation
Rules Of Attraction
Requiem For A Dream
Dogma
Snatch
Amelie

The Levellers can play the opening night party and everyone can sing along to One Way and flog themselves.

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I like three of those.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you hate Snatch? It doesn't seem like a movie that would engender strong feelings either way.

milozauckerman (miloaukerman), Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Worst movie ever. ADAM OTM.

Who did release magic family out from the base of $499 (deangulberry), Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 3 March 2005 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

any sort of event, be it festival or otherwise, is difficult to organize. RESPEK!

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 3 March 2005 03:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd have a festival themed around trains.

The Great Train Robbery (1904)
The General (1927)
La BĂȘte humaine (1938)
North by Northwest (1959)
Murder on the Orient Express (1974)
The Navigators (2001)

even though I don't like all the movies on the list.

Remy (null) (x Jeremy), Thursday, 3 March 2005 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

strangers on a train!

the taking of pelham 123!

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 3 March 2005 05:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd do a festival of movies that could be greatly improved with a song score added completely composed of the Gap Band's back catalogue, with live DJ-ing to simulate the fantasy. Including:

Radley Metzger's Score
Bill Morrison's Decasia
Kenneth Anger's Rabbits Moon
Ted V. Mikels' The Worm Eaters
Walt Disney's Fantasia
George Cukor's The Women
Sig Shore's Shining Star
William Friedkin's Cruising

Well, no not really. Just checking, though.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Thursday, 3 March 2005 05:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Another train movie: Twentieth Century

Eric H. (Eric H.), Thursday, 3 March 2005 05:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Wild Boys of the Road - trains + wild children = smashing entertainment

Aimless (Aimless), Thursday, 3 March 2005 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

RUNAWAY TRAIN

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 3 March 2005 06:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 3 March 2005 06:16 (twenty-one years ago)

A place! Where nobody wants to go!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 March 2005 07:50 (twenty-one years ago)

(I was gonna say 'The Zapple' but that sounded kinda neat. Like The Apple + Zappa = Zapple, where Fuctard Frank or whatever he is isn't allowed to mess with folks)

Remy (null) (x Jeremy), Thursday, 3 March 2005 08:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Zarr, from Heaven

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 3 March 2005 08:24 (twenty-one years ago)

nathalie barefoot in the head (stevie nixed), Thursday, 3 March 2005 08:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you see there is now a kinda film festival thing at ATP? At the next one, Vincent Gallo (who is curating/performing) will be screening his newie The Brown Bunny and other rare/unreleased stuff he has worked on... Has Brown Bunny been released in the UK yet?

Johanna (Johanna), Thursday, 3 March 2005 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)
