Flyness is my worst curse. I wonder what it would be like to be not-fly. That would be cool.

Never mind all that, What about the american band called McFly, who have agreed to rename themselves "The Fabulous McFly"?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Now that's fly.

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm flyer than ronnie birtles

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

How do you define "fly"?

Some Dadaismus Implied (Dada), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I am the fly.

alix (alix), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm more fly than an Atlantic Virgin. I'm so fly I outwing pigeons. I'm so fly I got a gaggle of geese following my every flight. I'm so fly I oughta have a cape and go-go boots.

"watching fools frontin fly, girls act material"

lukey (Lukey G), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Fly = sleekit

Some Dadaismus Implied (Dada), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Not fly at all, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Sven, maybe but are you fresh as well?

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

It means "sneaky" where I come from, and I suppose clever but in an underhand way

Some Dadaismus Implied (Dada), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Fly = sleekit

Yeah - I would have to agree with that.

On the subject of that type of flyness, I always wondrred...the phrase "he's as fly as get out"

What is get out and how can you be sneaky as it?

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

The expression is "all get out" and it's nowt to do with sneakiness or flyness, it just means "the maximum possible".

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I can assure you that in Glasgow it's 'as fly as get out' but your explanation still makes sense....

smee (smee), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Having never been fly, I transcend these simplistic worries for a higher state of grace and calm. *meditates*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

This answer leads me to believe that you are indeed "as fly as get out"...

smee (smee), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I visited a cool old lighthouse in Wisconsin when I was about 12. My stepdad's great-grandfather used to be the lighthouse caretaker there. I was pretty impressed. In the guestbook I wrote my name and under comments I wrote 'Fly.'

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

JLo was one of the Fly Girls on 'In Living Color' in the 80s.

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:13 (twenty-one years ago)

F-lyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Cornelius, Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Nicole is taking the piss.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still confused as to what fly is. I'm probably not very at all.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 3 March 2005 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

In Glasgow it means sneaky and underhand...

smee (smee), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha what?? That's hilarious.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

dadaismus pointed that out upthread too.

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer - didn't you respond to my post upthread about sneakiness?!!

smee (smee), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes but you were being sneaky and I was being dimm. It's just weird to me that you use fly but in such a different way. How long has this been going on??
