What's with guys putting stuff in their mouths and walking around? Usually it's 'just' a toothpick, but I've already seen some random asshole with a golf pencil in his mouth and another dude with an unlit stogie. I don't get it

It's tough.

Men: Their Oral Fixations (that are far more socially unacceptable for women, for whom it is acceptable to indulge the oral fixation that is far more common to both sexes)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 5 March 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

and what would that be?

Fish fingers all in a line (kenan), Saturday, 5 March 2005 17:32 (twenty years ago)

I always assumed that my pen-chewing habit came from watching my dad smoke when I was growing up, & just picking that behavior up. Mark might be right, tho.

I got into a playful argument with some people in college who were embarrassed by the fact that I walked around with a toothpick in my mouth sometimes. They thought it made me look "low-class."

Tell them you're a pool hustler.

The Argunaut (sexyDancer), Saturday, 5 March 2005 18:18 (twenty years ago)

Mark is right. Everyone who does this at all is sublimating their desire to suck dick.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 5 March 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

this applies to all eating by all animals

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 5 March 2005 18:52 (twenty years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Saturday, 5 March 2005 19:05 (twenty years ago)

What's with them? Nothing. They're just displaying the normative irrational behavior of all humans. We be making with the funny-strange all the livelong day.

Aimless (Aimless), Saturday, 5 March 2005 19:10 (twenty years ago)

Oral fixation: we didn't get enough breast feeding. Or, in some cases, we got too much. Either way, women are to blame. And that is why we be making with the funny/strange.

Maybe you're just sublimating your desire for tits...

Expo, Saturday, 5 March 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

My desire for tits and for dick is anything but sublimated.
