Bar or pub.

Rock show (though she loves music). Bookstore, or even the library, whether she reads a lot, or doesn't. COFFEE SHOP.

She eats (duh!!) but it's not like she's pushing a cart around the grocery store. Travels (or doesn't), but no she's not there reading a magazine in the gate waiting area, all regular and accessible like that.

planet hollywood

When I first got married my wife took the worst job in the world, working at the Paris Planet Hollywood, selling perfume in the loo. They actually charge you "rent" to work there, and you have to make back more in tips than you're spending in rent by ingratiating yourself with people during their moments of intimacy. It truly is a hell on earth.

Abbadabba Berman (Hurting), Friday, 2 December 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

san francisco.
i commute by public transportation or walk. i work in the pedestrian rich financial district and often get to run errands (walk around more). i dine out at least 3 nights a week and have coffee in cafes most mornings. i live in a small, tightly knit neighborhood where i see the same people every day. i spend time in bookstores, music stores, relaxing in parks. i am constantly among people with similar interests and lifestyles, and constantly among the general public, often uncomfortably close in proximity. yet i don't meet anyone, rarely speak to anyone and rarely am spoken to. i've tried hellos and friendly conversation, but people seem really put off by it. like i have some nerve for attempting to get their attention. i smile at people often, especially those i see on a regular basis. i try to build a silent bond. it's rarely reciprocated.

: (

On March 27, 1967, Yury Gagarin took off with his Mig 15 for what had to be his last flight. Onboard the jet there also was his instructor Vladimir Seryoghin. That day, at 10,31 in the morning, his jet plane crashed, near the town of Kirzhach, killing the two men.
