It's my birthday next Wednesday - can we have a FAP at the Glasshouse Stores please?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes.

Wouldn't you prefer The Intrepid Fox? They have 'Newky Brown'.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

somewhere with newky brown sounds great.

or just enough seats.

but glasshouse stores is good though!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Goodness, is it really 12 months since you turned 30?! maybe I'll bring my mum along... or maybe not

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Blimey. Doesn't time fly?

Will you be supplying the sweets and waterpistols this time?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

The GS sounds like a good idea. Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale will do instead of newky brown and dinner.

lock robster (robster), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like Vicky's mum to come. If Vicky's mum comes, I'll bring my mother-in-law.

Then again, it's not my birthday.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

sam smith's nut brown ale sounds unsavoury.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh. A Wednesday. I would like to come to this but I will need to be home by 10! How early will people be there?

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

is that desperate housewives commitments?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

yes!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

can't you catch up later in the week?

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

This man travelled to Oxford on a school night to watch Desperate Housewives. Do not underestimate his commitment.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i put it on the ILX calendar (http://my.calendars.net/ilxfap/), it's high time that thing was updated regularly again

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

To be fair I didn't have to work the next day... though Marianna DID. (xpost)

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Just set the video and watch it post-pub. Last years Barry Birthday FAP culminated in me being taken to a gay bar where £7.50 cocktails were consumed and girls tried to bribe the barman into going straight. See what you could be missing out on?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

For that scary piece of info alone, I'll sit this one out.

BARMS, Monday, 7 March 2005 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Just set the video

ahem.

Remember who you're talking to Matt! I have never managed to work a VCR in my life, and currently don't even possess one.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

what about second look sunday on e4?

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Last years Barry Birthday FAP culminated in me being taken to a gay bar where £7.50 cocktails were consumed and girls tried to bribe the barman into going straight

did this involve me? this sounds somewhat familiar, but i can't tell.

anyway, i'm sold. 16th it is. with or without gay barmen.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

If I go, I will go early doors, before the gay shenanigans.

All the gays will be watching Desperate Housewives, won't they?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Splendid! I knew I hadn't been baking enough cake lately.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i should set up Cake Aid, i am in desperate need

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

excellent! it was in my diary today to ask you about this. i will be there, prob not til half six or so though as i have to hang out with mathematicians first.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:19 (twenty-one years ago)

will you be out on the streets doing equation graffiti?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

did this involve me? this sounds somewhat familiar, but i can't tell.

You and Kate as I remember. You weren't the briber though, if I remember correctly. Which I can't because I'd been drinking for five hours.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think it was a gay bar. Just a cocktail bar with a gar bartender who I wanted to have my babies and administer my trust fund due to his skillz with chocolate cocktails...

Masonic Cathedral (kate), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Mark, I would love to me there, but I'm afraid I've already made my pilrimage to London for this year. I'll be there in spirit, though, along with Jumanji Bukkake from TWAT! agency.

Madeleine (Madeleine), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be there, and early (before 6).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 7 March 2005 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes please.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 7 March 2005 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe an opportunity for Jel to dish out ILX comp #2 ??

I will try and come to this.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 08:23 (twenty-one years ago)

this is the first Glasshouse fap since Nabisco was in town right?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

nope

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

actually the last one was a sinister pubnic really.. even though almost everyone there had posted on ilx in some way.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

no, there was a mini-fap before M Mayer at Fabric. I met triple underscore there!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed, when DV was over.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

when was that?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't recall - there was a thread.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Bump, just in case anyone needs reminding. Beer! Cake! Presents for me!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

reminder for what?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I've forgotten.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Bumping a thread for an event that's a week away, two days after it started reeks of something beginning with "d" and ends in "ation" ;-).

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Barry IS...THE DEFENESTRATOR.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i think we're safe as long as we're not all printing out this thread

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

do unto Barry what you would have him do unto you

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

actually with the low posting rate of this thread even if this happens deforestation is unlikely to occur.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

DeForest Kelley is unlikely to occur at Barry's BarryFAP either.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

haha he's too busy supplying the captain's log

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I am not going, because Markelby did not go to the chip shop and I'm sulking.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

omg original Star Trek FAP - i bet Uhuru would pwn at thumb wars

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Hows it going with the ILX Comp 2 Jel? Do you have the CDs yet?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, yep, I got them last week! (I need to listen to a few to make sure they are okay!)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

bring em to thee FAP then dude!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 14 March 2005 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I have presents for several attendees but not for Mark! Would you like a dodgy Europop CD Mark?

Tom (Groke), Monday, 14 March 2005 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

It's tommorrow.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

can't wait for the ILX comp CD!!!!!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean and Mark's birthday too!!!!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

dudes, I did say I probably wouldn't make it. But I hope to FAP soon.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i saw a silhouette of jel's head in a spotlight in the sky. he is needed on our crime-ridden streets tonight, tomorrow night, and beyond.

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I will consult with Ed to see if we can make it.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

BUMP. See you all there!

sgs (sgs), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:45 (twenty-one years ago)

not quite "all"

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:49 (twenty-one years ago)

OOPS

sgs (sgs), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Marcello - you must come!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It's one of my main handicaps, as numerous people have said to me in recent times...

Oh sorry we're talking about the FAP here aren't we? ;-)

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:59 (twenty-one years ago)

have fun folks! i feel like i should be there. but i'm having a FAP in melbourne instead... ;)
what time is it over there anyway?

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 09:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Just gone ten in the morning.

Alas Dr C these FAPs always seem to coincide with my low depressive cycles. I was up for it last week, but a bad weekend has triggered off this latest bout, so best to keep away and not make other folk miserable I think.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

How about letting other people cheer you up?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Added to that is just the sheer effort of having to get back from Hampstead to Streatham, get changed/clean up and then I have to go all the way back into town, plus I have to get up ridiculously early to get to work. It knackers me anyway, if no one else, and is a direct consequence of Streatham being a ball and chain which is stopping me from doing anything. This is why I am trying to find somewhere to live that's actually closer to things/people.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, Barry, I am unlikely to make this because I am deathly ill with the Extreme Death Flu. Have a happy birthday and a good party. My present to you will be the good health of not being given my germs. :-)

Masonic Cathedral (kate), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a houseguest this evening but I'll pop in around 6-ish to say hello and HB and buy the BB 568ml of brown fluid.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought the deal was you have a houseguest for the next 18 years! A houseguest I haven't met yet :( Will she be umpiring on Saturday?

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall be coming for one drink, as will my mum.

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I will pop in around 6.30-ish, more than likely. Just a quickie. Must get home in time for Whistleblower.

Hooray, Vicky's mum. Sadly I cannot keep my word regarding my mother-in-law due to lack of planning.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Ba-dum! Ava ain't no guest, she's (gruff Grant Mitchell* voice) faaamily. Perhaps I can stun two dogs with one rock and organise a little tennis thing in Crystal Palace and you can meet the bebe?

(* - I don't really know who this is)

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 11:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll be there, about half six or seven, i imagine.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

bar billiards?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm looking forward to this, however there's a very good chance I might be a little late. Hopefully I'll get there for 8pm.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

not sure I'm going to make it I'm afraid, I have no idea what time I'll be getting out of here, HB though Mark

ceebee, Wednesday, 16 March 2005 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Duck Season at 5pm at Odeon Wardour Street leads to arrival at GHS at 7pm.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall be coming for one drink, as will my mum.
-- Vicky

It'll be nice to have a woman my age at a FAP for once. (Don't panic, Vicky, I don't intend to attempt to chat up your mum.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I think my mum is quite a bit older than you martin. I was about to put her age, but then realised lots of you will see her tonight and thought better of it!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

**It'll be nice to have a woman my age**

You should've stopped there Martin, you rascal.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

wahey!, pub now!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

omg bar billiards.

i won't be there til a little later but will be there i'm sure.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Do they still have a foopball telly in the GHS?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm on my way. I may go to The Intrepid Fox instead. See my real mates.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

still at work....

ceebee, Wednesday, 16 March 2005 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

aw, poor cabbage...

well i had an lovely time last night, don't know about anyone else :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 17 March 2005 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

GIN RUIN

(so yes)

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 17 March 2005 10:36 (twenty-one years ago)

HMV ruin!

Lovely to see all the people I don't usually see - that was a real good FAP like they used to make.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 17 March 2005 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

It was a smasher - thanks everyone! And thanks for all the chocolate, Liz/Marianna - I still feel queasy this morning :)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 17 March 2005 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Mmm - polish cake for breakfast this morning. Yay pub!

lock robster (robster), Thursday, 17 March 2005 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

polish OFF cake more like

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 17 March 2005 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It was nice.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 17 March 2005 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

rest assured Mr Miller, i will never address you as PJ again

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 17 March 2005 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

great FAP! My head now hurts as well as my back. I am crocked. As ever, so many unfinished conversations and people I didn't get the chance to speak to. I find at these things I come in to the pub, rollercoaster through a series of excellent conversations and suddenly it's chucking out time and I have only just got started. The biggest question arising from last night is 'will The Pinefox get an ipod?'.

Also JtN - the Go-Betweens track that sounds like Joy Division is River Of Money from Spring Hill Fair. I can never remember these things at the time.

Didn't get to play bar billiards, but there was talk...crazy talk.

Sorry to miss Julio. One day I will actually talk to SteveM and PJ Miller (was it him?) - sorry.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 17 March 2005 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes it was me, Doc. Our time will come. My back hurts too.

I don't mind being called PJ, Sven.

I am so tired today I think I might have 'bird flu'. I'm going to eat my lunch at my desk so I can sneak off for half an hour later on and go and join the tramps in Lincoln's Inn Fields for a power snooze.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 17 March 2005 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a great time! And another FAP tomorrow!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 17 March 2005 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

So - this rock'n'roll thing...

the bellefox, Thursday, 17 March 2005 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)
