Are you sure she didn't mean teddy riley (which would make more sense but still not much). My mom once though jungle was a take off of traditional Korean drumming.

Well, usually they call it crap. Doesn't matter if it's Nick Drake or Prick Decay.

As i left the room, mumbled q from my dad (who half the time has great physical diff SPEAKING, thanks to parkinsons, so mostly doesn't): "Is Britney Spears Australian?"
mark s (completely non-plussed): "Yes. I mean no."

My Mom thinks everything is Morrissey. She heard a Barenaked Ladies song on the radio and *loved* it but thinks it's Morrissey; she keeps telling us all how she wants that "new Morrissey album" for xmas. She even thought someone ludicrous, like Sade or someone similar, was Morrissey when she heard it on the radio.

I think playing all of those Smiths albums in my teens traumatized her terribly and she's now conditioned to think that everything really does sound like Morrissey. Oh the guilt!

I dunno, I'd call that a wonderfully strange victory. If only because I'd love to see the look of apoplexy on Moz's face upon learning that he was compared to Sade. ;-)

When I returned to live permanently in Britain 16 years ago, everything sounded like Howard Jones, to such an extent that I still compare other singers to him even today. I'm ancient!
