But I can't find it.

Just bought the DVD and fuck me if it isn't one of the best Asian thrillers I've ever seen. The acting is brilliant, cinematography first class and what a soundtrack! Loads of extras on this too. Just goes to show that it's not only the Japanese who do moody gore films well.

...and what you can do on a comparitively small budget if you're super talented.

What was the budget? I've only watched the interview about the film score (beautiful) and they said they'd have liked to have a bigger orchestra but all they used was a quartet and an octet. You really wouldn't know.

Approx 1.3 million.

I did a double take when I read in Variety that Steven Spielberg and Will Smith are interested in an American remake of Korean director Park Chanwook's 2003 film Oldboy.

Wasn't there some talk a couple of years ago about a Hollywood remake, with Nick Cage starring in it?

Tuomas, Monday, 10 November 2008 08:34 (sixteen years ago)

Would pay to watch a ten minute long, one shot take of Will Smith bludgeoning a corridor full of people with a hammer

Ok no I wouldn't pay for it but I find the idea strangely compelling

david lynch's name was floated briefly before justin lin got attached... kinda glad lin backed out, could not see that working out well

I'd pay to watch Will Smith eat a live octopus.
