can you get championship mnanager for Apple? if not then I'm going to have to not get one

This is the thing you see, I know nuttin' about laptop computers. He wants something that can run Word and connect to the interweb. I said he shouldn't bother with a laptop, they're rubbish, get a proper PC instead - they're cheaper!

You should only get a laptop if you NEED to be mobile, as they are more expensive, less easily adaptable, and just BREAK more easily.

I do actually have to get a laptop, cause I freelance so much, and some petty fucker DESTROYED my old computer to prove a point, so if anyone has any advice to give on laptops (not a Mac, please- I do too much development in tools that require a PC) I would also be quite happy to hear it...

i r thinking you ened fatnick to flog one 4 u

Kate's OTM here. Laptops are a monstrous pain in the arse to upgrade and repair and they're almost twice the price of an equivalently specced desktop. Tell them to get a desktop instead.

RickyT, Tuesday, 4 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what if you have absolutely no space for a desktop? I know that would be the ideal solution but there's no way it'd fit in my box of a room and flatmate would be unimpressed with having it in living room.

Ahh, good point there, Mr Cabbage.

My iBOOK finally doesn't crash every five minutes. It's really great sitting in bed watching a DVD on my laptop. :-)

I screwed up my laptop when I spilled a glass of water on it. :(

I love my iBook. And it never freezes up; unlike my Windows machine at work.

You can put a desktop on the floor to get it out of the way. Mine is currently hidden under the desk.

Under £800. HAH! He can have my laptop. OH HANG ON, IT WILL ONLY RUN NOTEPAD AND NOT EVEN FCUKING SOLITAIRE. Dammit!!! I want a decent desktop and when I do I will have the INFORMATION via the INTERWEB at my HANDS to run MERELY DOS on it and this will make me feel cool and geeky as opposed to someone with the most shit hardware EVAH. You might as well save up a bit longer and spend a grand on something half decent as for under £800 you might as well just use a solar powered calculator and write 58008 on it and giggle to yrself hysterically hehehehe that's funny.
