Are there any inanimate objects or animals which have *never* been anthropomorphised?

I think a barrier was broken with Mr Hanky.

Narwhales - the ones with the unicorn horn. I'm currently in talks with a Hollywood mogul about my new film, 'Uni the Whale'. Russel Crowe plays the part of the whale.

"You mean they have a big scary horn on the front but they don'tkill things with it??? Next!"

I'm afraid the film Elf beat you to the narwhale idea. To my knowledge no one has ever anthropomorphised an astrolabe.

There has never been an animated series based on the Burgess Shale fossils :(

Loo roll has been anthropomorphised, I discovered when I was in the bathroom earlier. There was a pack of Nouvelle loo roll which had an anthropomorphised roll saying "I feel 100% soft and I'm 100% recycled!"

Facially, it looked like a cross between Casper the Friendly Ghost and Mr Stay Puft.

Wasn't there an anthorpomorphised astrolabe in the Dark Crystal? Or at least some kind of cool astrolabe-type machine. Or maybe my memory is failing...

Whilst attending to my personals yesterday, I read the back of the Andrex bag.

"Putting a smile on both cheeks."

I felt decidedly queasy.

And in answer to your question: placenta.

How did the toilet roll man feel about being wiped in your shit?

Zarnus, Friday, 11 March 2005 11:23 (twenty years ago)

I guess it's what he's designed for, Brave New World stylee.

Charmin adverts really make me feel ill. Anthropomorphized bear goes for a shit in the woods, takes 'squeezably soft' loo roll which hangs on a convenient twig. Euch.

That bear does enjoy wiping its arse a bit too much.

Placenta - that's a good one Johnney - I think kids would love a range of placenta inspired cuddly toys.

Poppy the Placenta is Torn Apart by Feral Dogs

I used to have a blood-drop cuddly toy from donating one time.

My daughter is currently working on a project in Chemistry: write a children's book about an element. She was thrilled to get assigned uranium, and we were all working on Ernie the Uranium Atom dialogue. "Sometimes people work on me in a special kitchen and turn me into bombs that kill people like you! How about that!"

Alls I know is this: yesterday the colleagues and I were attempting to come up with a "lay" explanation of inhibition of the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme by nucleotide/nucleoside analogues (don't ask) and the best I could come up with was this:

"nucleoside analogues slow down HIV replication by CONFUSING the virus's reverse transcriptase enzyme"

Am I going to go to writer's hell?
