the crows are restless in the trees outside. there is a chill in the air that wasn't there a minute ago.

Climb under your desk and start howling.

did you know that the word *FEY* means "fated to die soon" as well as "enchanted and elfin"? I never knew that! Maybe Scottish people know that. But not this Scott-ish person!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 11 March 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

the wind is picking up.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 11 March 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

the day is grey. the snow comes and goes. there is a dog barking in the distance. there are no people here.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 11 March 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

When the wind dies, and all is still, there is the faint odor of electricity in the air, and a dim blue light illumes the snow. The dog is quiet now.

pepektheassassin (pepektheassassin), Saturday, 12 March 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

Now the dog is no longer quiet, and its mournful cry bolts through the twilight...

Jimmy Mod Has Returned With Spices And Silks (ModJ), Saturday, 12 March 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

the snow is heavier now, turning the rain-soaked streets into sheets of white. and yet, the skunks are in heat and the rabbits are searching frantically for signs of spring.

The "party shuffle" function on iTunes will only play songs in a minor key.

*sigh*

i, i , don't know what i'm doing anymore.

what?

i just, wait!, what was that noise?

what noise, daddy?

it sounded like...it sounded like a soft, muffled threnody of loss played by a cloud too gray to move.

can i just have some fig newtons?

something's coming.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 12 March 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

the wind blows just strongly enough to show the silver undersides of the lilac leaves;
a dog barks;
the new car in the parking lot has been idling for two hours.

This morning I went out to the office about 7:30. At 7:40, my wife called the office from inside the house; I can tell that she's been jolted out of deep sleep.
"D'jou just knock on the front door?"
"No, not me. Somebody's at the door?"
"Thought I heard somebody out there."
"I'll go check."
So I walk around the office to the front of the house with the phone in my hand, nobody there. Turn around, and there's a cop slowly cruising by my house, looking at me. As I walk back to the office, I see another cop crossing the intersection a block to the east.
Back in the office, I turn the music off so I can hear whatever's sneaking up on me.

I forbode nothing. Except that I really must rip some more discs here.
