I don't search my own name, as shoutouts to me are few but not zero (So I missed one from September until last week).

Then I look at the ILM new answers. Then I check the mod boards to see what FITES!!! I have missed.

2) the index or ILE New Answers
3) no
4) rarely, i'll just go by the New Answers list
5) yep
i always read ILE THEN ILM, never the other way around
― Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 14 March 2005 10:03 (twenty years ago)
a) type http://i[TAB]p[TAB]n[TAB] in the address bar - that takes me to the ILE New Answers page
b) go down to the bottom and scroll up, clicking on red threads that were vaguely interesting, or threads I've started that have been updated. Or, new threads that sound vaguely interesting.
I don't bother searching for anything - definitely not for myself

2) Which page do you start on?ILE New Answers
3) Do you search your own name to see if anyone's shouted you out?Nope
4) Do you search your own started threads? If I remember and if they hadn't already died a horrible death, I might scroll down to find them, or even click "all updated threads".
5) Revisit Threads in 'purple'?No, only for reference
― Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 14 March 2005 13:14 (twenty years ago)
Then I try to avoid flipping endlessly back & forth between ILM & ILE instead of getting down to work.
― lovebug starski (lovebug starski), Monday, 14 March 2005 13:32 (twenty years ago)
I type i l [down arrow] which pulls up ile new answers. Then it's pretty random, bouncing back and forth between ile and ilm. I post sometimes on I Love Cooking and lurk on I Love Comics.
I think I searched for my name once after I spent two weeks in rome. Oh and when I was without internet forever right after I moved in august.

Firefox remembers ILX. So I just type il and he knows what I am craving for.
Mostly the new answers page (ILM).
Rarely if ever.
I don't start threads. Used to but gave up.
Yeah, all the time.

2) Which page do you start on?I start on the ILE new answers page and scroll down, opening threads in new tabs. As I type this, I have eight tabs that I haven't gotten to yet.
3) Do you search your own name to see if anyone's shouted you out?No. Until I change my name to Perry Plains or Pleasant Raggett, I doubt that I'll ever have the need to do that.
4) Do you search your own started threads?Yes. We named the dog Veruca, by the way. Turns out that not only is she adorable, but she's a little shit as well.
5) Revisit Threads in 'purple'?Like the Whaddya You Look Like threads? Yeah.

No, I never search for my name, and rarely give special attention to the infrequent threads I start, unless they fall into that first category above for some reason.

ILX is usually in my bookmarks toolbar in Firefox.
The main one, and then I read ILC while I'm drinking coffee and waking up, and then ILE if I finish with ILC. ILM a couple times a week if there's not a specific thread I'm following.
No. ... what a creepy idea.
I don't start many threads; on ILC, it wouldn't be necessary to search for them, on ILE I'm sure I'd notice if it had new answers or whatever.
Which ones are purple? (None of mine are purple, for colorblindness reasons.) I don't use the later feature, if this is about that. If I started reading a thread, I usually keep reading it, but as far as first-ILX-of-the-day type habits, it depends on how much it's grown. I skip long threads unless they're joke threads (Rowan Atkinson as James Bond, etc) or recurring ones like Excelsior.
― Tep (ktepi), Monday, 14 March 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)
If I'm starting up from "scratch" (i.e. ILX isn't already loaded up into my browser), I just type out the URL (it's easy to remember!). Otherwise, if I've already got that tab open, I just click on the "Reload current page" button of the index I want to visit first.
If it's the "from scratch" first visit, the main ILX page. If I'm just working from the reload, it's always ILE's New Answers page.
Never. First off, my name's not searchable in the database, and secondly, I don't really bother with doing that sort of thing.
Maybe several months down the line, if I need refreshing on something said therein, or if I'm compelled to e.g. "what was the first thread you started?"-style questions, but... I don't bother with that either. Heck, I've started so few threads on my own that it's not worth the bother.
If they've been updated since the last time I visited them and if I'm interested in them, sure, absolutely.

1) How do you get here on a morning/first visit of a day? Bookmark/GoogleSearch/History/Dropdown?bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar
2) Which page do you start on?"Boards", then I go through ILE, ILM, Noise, IP3, Drunk, Freud, Cape, 7C7, ILTMI, Comp, Books, Cars, Games, Style, IMM, Protest!, IRE, Church, Player's Club, ILP
3) Do you search your own name to see if anyone's shouted you out?No
4) Do you search your own started threads? No, if they're near the top of new answers, I'll check and see what's been added.
5) Revisit Threads in 'purple'????

1) How do you get here on a morning/first visit of a day? Bookmark/GoogleSearch/History/Dropdown?google search2) Which page do you start on?usually ILE, ILM, Games, TMI, Noise, IP33) Do you search your own name to see if anyone's shouted you out?I've done this before. Unfortunately I can't search the secret threads/polls where people can talk behind your back (my only gripe about ILX). One day you find out you are overrated, the next day that thread magically disappears. Where do these threads go mods? I would ask in the moderator request section but I'm inexplicably banned from there.4) Do you search your own started threads?occasionally to see if there are more answers5) Revisit Threads in 'purple'?yeah, I revisit threads I've previously clicked. Sometimes upon revisit I wonder why I clicked that thread in the first place
― Mulvaney, Monday, 11 May 2009 20:48 (sixteen years ago)
Ha, yeah, I always click on the purple ones going "why was I posting here" only to reveal that I wasn't and why one earth did I care to read anyone's insights on Russel Brand.
― SQUIRREL WITH A PEOPLE FACE (╓abies), Tuesday, 12 May 2009 15:29 (sixteen years ago)
At work i no longer bookmark, in case my machine gets hauled off somewhere and my favorites will be viewable by the 'man'
so open google, type ilx, it's the third link down.
open site new answers, which shows me ILE, ILG, ILP, ILC.occasionally view the mods board.
i have black background stylesheet, so no purple for me.
― Ant Attack.. (Ste), Tuesday, 12 May 2009 15:37 (sixteen years ago)

― SQUIRREL WITH A PEOPLE FACE (╓abies), Tuesday, 12 May 2009 16:15 (sixteen years ago)
I see what's going on on ILX about once every 3 weeks. That takes about a minute, then I go again.
