St. Idus
5th century

The bishop of Alt Fadha in Leinster, Ireland. He was originally a disciple of St. Patrick and took part in the great evangelization of the Emerald Isle.

On the Ides of March a bumblebee flew into the cab of Paul the plumbers truck, causing him to drive into a building. The bumblebee is surely at fault, as it should not have been bumble-being for at least a month. Everyone survived.

Some times I wonder if *everyone* is taking the piss.

I always thought "Ides of March" was a corruption of "Ice of March", a reference to the ice, snow and hail which traditionally at this time of the year makes our roads and motorways so dangerous.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 16:58 (nineteen years ago)

Tony Benn OTM here: "What makes people uneasy is they see a Conservative bill introduced by a New Labour prime minister depending on Conservative support."

They should just keep Tony in power and rearrange the Commons seating plan.
