C/D: Online Petitions or "Please Stop Urging Me to Sign This Petition, John Kerry."

John Kerry has just sent me the umpteenth damn request to sign some stupid online petition, this time to save the Arctic Wildlife Refuge. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see that place destroyed by drilling, but is signing an online petition really going to help?

Even those 1-900 numbers for "American Idol" or "Friday Night Videos" or whatever had more say in matters than online petitions. Can anyone point to any evidence where a Senator sitting on Capitol Hill looked at an online petition and said, "Well, if concerned Americans such as DiAmOnDhEaD_6669 troubled themselves to take the time to sign this, then I shall give the matter more thought!"

Senator Kerry, you just make me sad when you send me these things. Maybe we should all just concentrate on not buying gasoline for a day.

Will Senator DiAmOnDhEaD_6669, representing the state of MangaManZilla.com, rise for the swearing-in ceremony?

Raise your left hand, please: \\m//

This is still a thread about the effectiveness of online petitions, but really. I get more of these invitations to sign from John Kerry than I do from Razorback fans trying to fire Stan Heath. Senator, I wish so much that you were president right now, but you're not. Please have a seat.

I love how myspace still has these ads up that are like "if you're pro-Bush, click HERE, if you're pro-Kerry, click HERE". It might be cool though if you clicked on the KERRY link and it just went to a page that was all like pulling a Lynndie on you.

a page that shot you in the nuts?

I am not ready to unsubscribe from the Democrat Party. Ask me again in December, 2006.

eight months pass...
I'm still on the Democrats' list, but I finally had to unsubscribe from John Kerry's after this:

I'm not going to donate money to have your website plastered across billboards, Senator Kerry. YOU LOST, THE WAR (THAT YOU VOTED FOR) IS ONGOING, AND POSTING YOUR NAME ALL ACROSS REPUBLICAN DISTRICTS ISN'T EXACTLY HELPING "THE CAUSE" THAT MUCH.
