As I've said elsewhere, I'll be coming direct from Oxford, where I have to go on Saturday morning to inspect/approve Laura's headstone, so probably will be in a sombre mood to begin with but hopefully will warm up/cheer up eventually. Have patience with me, friends.

sure. but what about the spitz thing tonight. i'm kind of intrigued cos i never been to spitz and cos i ain't been to a real indie gig since b&s at the union chapel ages ago, plus it sounds like many posters will be there for due badgering.

Oh, the Spitz is FANTASTIC! It has a great bar and restaurant bit downstairs. Part of the bar area is actually inside Spitalfields market itself...of course the market isn't there when the gigs happen and it's a big empty shed with post-market ephemera but that's still good. Then you climb loads and loads of stairs (hope you like climbing stairs) to the vneue proper but even that isn't the top because there's a dressing room on the floor above where the band meembers can ogle the punters when they arrive. My only criticism would be that the bar in the venue itself is a tad too small but there's a reasonable sized stage which you can go down the side of as well as view head on.

Me. I'll be there tonight as well from 8-8.30ish I should imagine. I will be wearing TIGXOR SOCKS and haffing the GLEE. I may also be taking SLUGS from a hipflask containing the WHISKEY but you know, nudge nudge etc. A round of the power shandies is also quite U&K.

And don't worry! When Camera Obscura come on you can always go to the BAR downstairs hoorah hoorah.

Elisa: here. You may also be interested in the Korean DDR machine which has Britney, Nsync and AHA on it with amazingly cute and mad anime in the background. The floor with the bumper cars in the Trocadero. They also have the DDR machine where you use arms as well, but the sound's buggered.

Trocadero on Leicester Sq but nearest tube = Picadilly Circus. IT IS A MAD INSANE WORLD but boy is it worth it. This machine is an absolute BRANE-MELT. You can still play Para Para (it's called E-Z Dancer or something) but the sound is turned down soooo low you can barely hear it CHIZ. The Korean DDR machine has slightly different controls too, you'll be FREAKED by it. I am. Oh god, I so want to play this now. Perhaps I should go after work... by myself... to dance on a machine to Britney... ahem. They still have two regular DDR machines as well, I think. And the horsie.
