gareth, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Errmmmm... maybe. Your previous description sounded ... intriguing.

kate, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

got links to what it's about?

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, yes please! If I've escaped from the clutches of my extended family by that point I'll definitely be there. I suspect Katie G will be similarly enthusiastic.

RickyT, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Possibly, if it is affordable.

DG, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"The venue that we will be using for the party is near Old Street tube, the exact address is on the tickets. The night will open at 10pm and go on late into the night. (5/6 am). The line up so far is looking very tastey and the music is going to be spot on. Tickets are priced at £7 + booking fee. Tickets have gone on sale at stargreen (use link below) and will be in Rough Trade covent garden for the weekend.

i just ordered mine!

gareth, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

ok, but that doesn't say much. i take it that it's like a warp showcase, a few new guys and gals plus an established act to pull in the punters? hmm? either way, i've got no better plans for that day, so i might just see you there.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Looks like I'm in.

suzy, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Is this about DANCE MUSIC?

Will there be CHEESE?

Sarah, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I doubt there will be cheese, Sarah. I went to a Warp records party at I think Xmas a few years ago and there was no cheese there but the label was a bit directionless then. It was a fun evening though not really any thanks to Warp - it also put me off Broadcast for ages and stopped me realising how fucking brilliant their last record is.

Tom, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

hey I said nutting about going to no festive nesh, well not yet anyway.

Ed, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes yes yes, but what will be happening at this 'nesh' of which you speak?

DG, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

drinking, dancing and cavorting

Ed, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

But no cheese.

RickyT, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No no no, I didn't mean that, I meant what acts are booked etc?

DG, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Wine?? (dammit I am hungry but only one in office DAMMIT UNLEASH MY CHAINS).

Sarah, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

ambrose, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to the last Warp night at ocean and learnt AFTER the event that there was indeed cheese there.

Jonnie, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

DISTURBING.

RickyT, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Book me a ticket! I shall bring my own cheese, just in case.

Sarah, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, as long as it's not in the Aquarium club should be good. I hate the Aquarium club.

suzy, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i shall be there

Ed, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

But... but... which boys with laptops, having what variety of fun? Unlikely I can go, sadly, but I'd just like to know how much to cry as I sit here on my own.

Rebecca, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i dont know. theres nothing on the warp website about it.....spooky.

ambrose, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Don't forget. 30th = Zig Zag pub crawl...

Pete, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

two weeks pass...
so, who exactly is coming?? should we arrange things meetups beforehand, you got to start telling me stuff now, i need time to get the hair ready dudes.

ooh i like it, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Myself and Starry Sarah are definitely coming but we might have other plans immediately beforehand.

RickyT, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not me, I'm probably in Dorset visiting family, and it looks like it's sold out anyway. And I still don't know who's playing. Jan Nesh sounds good, Cylob, DMX Crew and RDJ djing and Ovuca live. Probably won't be at that either though. Sigh. Have fun.

Rebecca, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A bunch of my friends seem to be going bowling on the 29th, so after a ten year gap or so I may be cajoled into that. I shall endeavour to attend the riverside pub crawl though.

Ally C, Monday, 24 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

possibly might be something in the offing, my sister brought me a special present back from mexico. Also we may be joined by my sister in person and three real madrid footballers? (don't ask me i only work here)

Ed, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Bowling, oy vey Ally :)

What are people WEARING more importantantly?? I do not haf a clue. Perhaps it will be glittery swirly ACE 70s TOP which is ACER than I am making it sound - with a SKIRT OR I could wear my NEU! Buffy the Vampire Slayer sleeveless top ALSO WITH HOOD again with um, a skurt. And perhaps strange fishnets as it is time I got some more. WHOT SHOES EH? WHOT OF THE SHOES??

Help. Panic.

Sarah, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am obviously not the person to ask as I will be wearing whatever I find clean that morning. I once ran into bjork at one of these things and she was a gingham space pixie

Ed, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not the pink tights, I hope.

RickyT, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm bloody well coming, I've got my ticket and it's pinned on my noticeboard. Wot will I wear? Surely you all know by now? But more importantly, do I bring my BLACK CIGARETTES (Ph3ar me etc) or save them for new year's eve? Hmm...

DG, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd go even though I hate most warp stuff except I'm over here and it's over there and such.

Ronan, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Will the new coat be making an appearance, DG?

RickyT, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

there is no reason for anyone to be all worried about what clothes to wear and stuff. its a yea whatever vibe.

i shall probably be wearing brown and caramel trainers, or the orange ones. i think i will go with my current favourite trousers, the brown velvetines ones i got in new york. i'm probably going to wear the brown and blue 70s style puma t-shirt, or that new red one i have got, and then maybe the trusty black polo neck for that classy 'film scored by michel legrand' type shit. the arfur daley/malcolm allison/john motson sheepskin coat is going to depend pretty much on the weather. and the brown, white and orange pringle socks? we'll just have to see!

ooh i like it, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

black polo necks look great under nice jackets except when i wear mine my friends bully me for trying to look arty. not really bully so much as mock.

Ronan, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So far I am thinking tigXoR sox worn with black converse trainers but now the rest of the outfit it is a PUZZLE! I am leaning more and more towards BUFFY THE VAMPYRE SLAYXOR TOP. BUT THEN SKIRT HASSLE. Perhaps I should buy a new one. Argh.

Sarah, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

arse, i forgot all about this. is there any chance of tix on the door? seems unlikely.

Alan (at ancestral home), Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You could try Stargreen. They still had tickets last Friday.

RickyT, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes the new coat will be putting in an appearance, it goes everywhere with me these days.

DG, Tuesday, 25 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sarah, pink gingham is very much the new look of now.

pink tights I think not, the most effort I ever made on going out was to wear a boiler suit and purple turban, but i thing I shall be sticking with the come as you are vibe, with probably my excellent lee perry jumper.

Ed, Wednesday, 26 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hell Yeah.... K-reg will attend. I think it's taking place @ Fortress 2, Provos St, nr Lvrpl St, I think - tickets were available if you mailed rave@warprecords.com.
Meeting up before hand = good idea, I suspect I'll be losing my communication skills as the evening goes on. Get in touch, email below.

K-reg, Wednesday, 26 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw Richard Devine at the Pyramid Club. He played "Shake Ya Ass" off his laptop which he did straight w no tweaking. His body english was fairly on, but there was sort of 2wice as much of it as actual sounds his computer was making.

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 27 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I still do not know what to wear.

Sarah, Friday, 28 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have two spare tickets for tomorrow!!

I live in Slough so I could meet you somewhere near me or meet at the venue. E mail if you are interested!

simon kaufman, Friday, 28 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So what's going on then? Is there a meeting?

DG, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Post up any approximate co-ordinates, I'll have to check up in a netcafe this evening.

K-reg, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

well i'm finally back in the land of constant internet connections, so i've mailed simon tho is prob late now. i'm going to try getting in whichever way, so if there were a meet, i'm in.

Alan (at home), Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wah, they are sold out. I'll have a look in to the board later this evening and hang around looking to get in (if it's at the Provost Street thing), otherwise any help appreciated :-(

I need a night out goddamnit, i've been so BORED this last week.

Also any news of the zigzag pub crawl of death?

Alan at home, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm just going to head straight there to get there for about 9.

DG, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm going to be there about 10-10.30ish, will you have your mobile with you DG?

gareth, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Doesn't start till eleven, it's near Old St roundabout, if anyone knows a pub........?

K-reg, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

electricity showrooms??

i'm only in this internet cafe for another 4 mins, but i'll txt you my mobile number nick

gareth, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My ticket says it starts at 10. Blimey, this is confusing. and no, I don't have my mobile, I don't have one at all, I lost it. Bah.

DG, Saturday, 29 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Get off at Old Street head north. There's got to be a pub not too far from the venue. I'm going to head there for 10ish and ask on the door. i'll keep an eye out for you lot, but i'm not too hopeful at the mo. looks like i'll be on an indie-disco kick instead. camden underworld here i come.
