Anybody who says "up the arse" gets a slap.

I've got to meet my Dad tonight in Westminster but have no ideas of nice food serving pubs around the area. Do you?

Up the Arsenal. Great exhibition. Silverware and everything!

(Turns. RUNS.)

At the top of Whitehall there's the Silver Cross and the Moon on the Mall (you can guess what to expect from both of those). They're both pretty big and serve food, Moon on the Mall = Wetherspoons so pretty standardised and not too expensive food either. And they're just round the corner from my work hurrah. I don't know much more round the Westminister/Millbank side though. The Red Lion is a nice small pub but I don't know if it does food. It might do though, and it's just by Westminister tube - heading up towards Trafalgar Sq. If you wanna be PONCEY you could visit the ICA but their food is expensive and sadly lacking.

food serving pubs round westminster are not generally that good. There's a good thai place but can only find it by randomly walking there. i'd suggest going up to gerrard street for dim sum or chinese buns.

Romford Market.

I might take him to Greenwich for a £6.50 kebab. That's right, £6.50.

Jonnie, Wednesday, 5 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Also there's an Italian place on Villiers St my colleagues are recommending. Apart from that, um, I can only think of my first two suggestions. The Westminister/Millbank side is RUBBIDGE really.

I saw that kebab, it scared me.... a lot. You could have fed a family of four on it for a week.

Take him to see "The Others", cuz all dads like Ms Kidman especially now she's single and available and everything.

Failing that, Romford market - the Golden Lion is a pretty good pub. I'd avoid the Bull though unless yer old man likes the taste of broken glass. Plus fifty pee fer a paand a toma'as is a pretty good deal, I'm sure you'll agree.
