The weirdest conversation ever. feat. Joe Klock

I work for a very small weekly newspaper, and on our oponion page is a column by Joe Klock. He has a very small syndication, so I don't know if you guys have ever read his stuff. Aside from the month after Sept. 11, all he has ever written about was the wantoness of women: their skanky attire, their lascivious way of walking & what have you. He is a real nut. (see http://www.joeklock.com/joesplace) This week, he wrote a piece (as usual) about the awfulness of political correctness, and how he can't demean women anymore. Not that that stops him. "I will kepp calling you honeys as long as you keep being so pretty," he said of all women. Except Madonna, Chandra Levy, whoever else is in the spotlight & has breasts. He also bemoaned the decline of ethnic humor, citing Archie Bunker as "our last great and innocent commedian." His columns are bizarre. They always make me laugh and feel awkward, he is so sex-obsessed and he has this loopy vernacular. He called this week's moan about foxy ladies "A Nosegay of Noteworthy Nostalgia". He called me at work yesterday, and I have no idea why. It was a short conversation, but the fact that this very old man who is sort of a scary legend in my mind just called me up gave me the willies. He had a purpose, I guess. After five minutes of talk about his home in "sunny Key Largo, Florida" he asked me to send him tear sheets of his column.

Hm. You could threaten to send him leather boys.

(Side note -- I'm terribly lazy! I will send you that letter!)

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE FIND COMFORT IN CONSERVATIVISM? I GUESS THATS ITS WHOLE APPEAL. OPPOSE CHANGE BECAUSE THE NEW IS FEARED.

Florida, you say? Are you sure it isn't another one of 'Ed Anger's' personalities? Look at that name: "Joe Klock".

His opinions don't weird me out, it is the way he says them. He is always so over the top. I don't think I've ever simultaneously felt so delighted and uncomfortable.
