mark s (mark s), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

and is getting primary code breaking into yr display browser-related? (i think i know the answer to this one)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:10 (twenty years ago)

camino is firefox rewritten more efficiently for Mac OS X

safari is not available for 10.1.x I believe.

Ed (dali), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:12 (twenty years ago)

Ed (dali), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:22 (twenty years ago)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:22 (twenty years ago)

mark WARNING if you use firefox it is pretty crucial that you download this extension:

camino requires at least 10.1.5 (available as free upgrade from apple)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:27 (twenty years ago)

slicki why do i need that extension?

mark s (mark s), Monday, 4 April 2005 19:28 (twenty years ago)

well it wouldn't D/L anyway (or it did and secretly installed slicki-spyware behind my clock)

i've been on firefox for 20 mins and it's ok

Camino is NOT that. It simply uses the Gecko rendering engine that is common to Mozilla and Firefox as well. It does not support Firefox extensions.

absolutego (ex machina), Monday, 4 April 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

ooh i like camino!

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

NO PLUGINS.

absolutego (ex machina), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

i don't need plugins when it presents the fonts tidily

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

I don't see a diference between the font rendering in Firefox and Camino.

absolutego (ex machina), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:52 (twenty years ago)

Anyone notice that firefox isnt as bulletproof as it was initially? Popups seem to be making some headway against it.. perhaps I should just stop reading the drudg3 report.

freaky trigger is def tidier and nicer in camino, and ilx seems easier to read in my beloved NEW YORK 9pt

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

You can change the font.

absolutego (ex machina), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

yeah but NEW YORK 9pt is better than any other font ever!

my g/f mac has had real bad problems with safari on her mac just yesterday, and is now stuck on explorer. so a timely thread! for some reason reinstalling everything after a minor problem fux0red safari, which had been working fine... i blame BT...

N_RQ, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 07:46 (twenty years ago)

firefox crashes on one comp (the one that also refuses to store events in ical!) so i bet that imac is just being a pain in the mofo ass. :-(

i love LOVE firefox but use safari most of the time.

camino seems to jump into magnified layouts every now and then

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:00 (twenty years ago)

g/f confirms that camino is good times, but she's still using the ethernet connect instead of the usb because of useless BT, leaving me webless bah.
