1. The Twirl: Pencil is held gently in a chopstick-like position. The thumb then twirls the pencil 360 degrees, around the axis of the index finger. The shorter the pencil, the greater the difficulty.
-----1a. Alternate version: Same relative starting position and gesture, except the pencil is held more firmly between the index and middle fingers, and then twirled in a super-fast rough figure-8 pattern.
2. The Seesaw: Hand is curled into the 'A-OK' sign, with the thumb and index finger creating an 'O' shape. The pencil is carefully balanced where the thumb and finger meet, so that it doesn't fall. The hand is placed close to a desk, and gently rocks up and down, making the pencil's ends move up and down as well. If done right, the tip of the pencil will bounce off the desk lightly each time, adding a touch of rebound momentum.
3. Walking the Dog: Pencil is held by the index and middle fingers. The ring finger then curls around, and the pencil does a 180 degree flip, so that it then sits between the ring and middle fingers. The pinky does the same, then the process is reversed. Extra points if the twists are all in the same direction, ie clockwise or the opposite.

The ones that end up with a "Fuck you, Momus!" posting are my favorite.

You people are far more clean than I ever suspected. Or I'm just a dirty illiterate.

4. If you hold a pencil loosely between your thumb and index finger (towards the middle) and move your hand up and down rapidly so the pencil wiggles up and down, it will look like it's bending.

if you hold the pencil with your thumb and index finger and jab it toward your eyes with a jabbing motion. You go blind.
