After the killing she served about five years in prison in NZ, went to Sydney briefly after her release, and then returned to Britain. Her family were very supportive afterwards.
If you do read the interview it would be interesting to hear what you think.
The whole situation was horrible and tragic. I thought the film was wonderful. She wasn't happy about them making it.

One of the questions she was asked is: Would you feel that way if your mother and father had been the victim of a murder?
It was her friend's mother who was killed, but she must have been cringing. Some of the questions were uncannily appropriate.
She was kind of evasive about the murder itself... trying to push blame onto the other child and claiming that the victim was killed instantly, which was not the case. But I'd probably do the same if I'd murdered someone. Which I haven't.

This thread has blown my mind. I was pseudo-obsessed w/ heavenly creatures in college and I had no clue that one of the girls is now a bestselling novelist. I guess I should read some anne perry! Any recs on where to start?
