It looks like I'll be in Boston in late May, for a wedding on the 21st. I think I will hang out in your most fine city for a couple of days afterwards, should anyone want to meet up and stuff.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 7 April 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

YAY

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 April 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

hurrah

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 7 April 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

I also shall be all up in your house and, given the opportunity, your grill.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 8 April 2005 07:01 (twenty years ago)

cool

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:37 (twenty years ago)

Grillzilla blurillaz schillaz! I might have to drive my punk ass up from CT to MA for some of this trans-Atlantic action (if the Commonwealth will have me).

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:44 (twenty years ago)

it would be great if Lara, Ronan & Killian were also coming to this wedding so we could bring the full on Dublin FAP experience to Boston, but sadly I don't think they are invited.

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 8 April 2005 17:07 (twenty years ago)

Maybe you could have a FAP in my hospital room (just don't spill beer on the new baby). I'll be recovering from a C-section at Mass General right about then.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Friday, 8 April 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

Preemptive congratulations!

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 8 April 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

by the way... does anyone fancy putting me up on the night of May 23rd?

don't all answer at once now.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 11 April 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

OK, no one wants to put me up. Fair enough, I wouldn't either. But you'll come for a drink with me? Guys?

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

I will miss you by less than 2 weeks, DV. Sorry. Also, sorry that no one wants to drink with you.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

Dude, I told you, VICK TORE EE UH VILLE.

Curious George (1/6 Scale Model) (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Oooh? where and when is this Victoriaville? I think I am going to too much music and spending too much time in North America for it.

Ally C - maybe I will see you in Glasgow at the weekend? I am going to those exciting gigs in the CCA on Friday and Saturday, and there is some talk of going to some art school disco afterwards some night.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

I totally want to go out drinking! You know I'm up for it!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

DV in Glasgow too! As well as Hopkins and Ronan! Get over to Try Glasgow to view (lack of) plans.

Ally C (Ally C), Wednesday, 20 April 2005 22:55 (twenty years ago)

I will too.

Get over to Try Glasgow to view (lack of) plans.

that thread R too long. I'm kind of relying on the other internet for meetup stuff in Glasgae the weekend. Is Ronan talking about going clubbing somewhere. Maybe I would like that, although I wuv the indie disco.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 21 April 2005 09:42 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
REVIVE! Farrell and I are in town in barely a week... ARE YOU READY TO BATTLE?

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:08 (twenty years ago)

When is y'alls gwine oot fer drinkin'? I assume that the wedding will put the kibbosh on any drinking on the 21st (plus I have Star Wars tickets and a party to go to, haha), so are we looking at Friday? Thursday? Thursday afternoon wet lunch?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:12 (twenty years ago)

I only arrive on the thursday, may be a bit *confused* that night. But maybe friday would be good. what day is that? I'm around on the sunday and monday, probably on for a-boozing that night. I can always do a Ronan if everyone else is busy then.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:17 (twenty years ago)

Friday = 20th.

Any day besides Saturday is good for me.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:19 (twenty years ago)

Fancy a pint of microhouse?

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 12 May 2005 00:54 (twenty years ago)

I'll only be getting in at 20.00 on Friday. I'm staying on Edgerly road, which is by The Fenway, it appears.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:44 (twenty years ago)

do you reckon you'll want to party that night?

DV (dirtyvicar), Sunday, 15 May 2005 20:36 (twenty years ago)

Oh yes.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Sunday, 15 May 2005 21:34 (twenty years ago)

Hmm friday the 20th. not sure, will have to check with a friend.

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Sunday, 15 May 2005 21:48 (twenty years ago)

thinking about it, I'll only want to mildly party that night... I reckon I'll still be jetlagged and saving myself for the wedding on saturday.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 16 May 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

actually, I think I'm going out with a load of GURLS from the other internet this friday. so how about big ILX meetup on Sunday?

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 16 May 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

That's also an excellent idea.

PS: Hook me up.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 16 May 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

andrew - you are in Dublin for a day longer than me. Thus it falls to YOU to arrange the DUBLIN-BOSTON ILX MEETUP.

I know I can rely on you.

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 17 May 2005 21:45 (twenty years ago)

I can't make it at all this weekend. Sorry. Have fun dudes.

Chris 'The Nuts' V (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 09:26 (twenty years ago)

Aw 'the' nuts.

So, we are being tired/meeting the other internet on Friday (=tomorrow, eek), and at a wedding on Saturday, so it'll have to be a school night. What are preferences for Sunday vs Monday?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 19 May 2005 11:21 (twenty years ago)

I have no preference; as far as I know I'm free both days.

(Having said that my karma will practically guarantee that I will have something to do on the night the meet-up eventually happens.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 May 2005 11:45 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeah, what's the weather like in the colonies these days?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 19 May 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

This week has been 60 Fahrenheit and cloudy/rainy. It has rained on the weekend for the past five weeks.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 May 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

Okay then, in the absence of plans, I suggest drinking on the Monday, in case DV is a bit tired/never drinking again tomorrow. I'm staying on Edgerley road (by the Hynes) as noted, and I think DV is in the Mary Prentiss Inn on 6 Prentiss Street, or possibly The Hotel Marlowe on Edwin H Lan Blvd. This gives us an overlap of: nothing. But I have no problem travelling to a FAP, so anywhere near DV's location (preferably near a T, please) would be fine.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Saturday, 21 May 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

So harvard square area if at the Mary Prentiss, but meanwhile th Marlowe is by Kendall, which I don't know if there are good places to hang there?

Somebody with a better sense of time and the city help this plan take shape please!

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Saturday, 21 May 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Learning from my lessons last time: whoever picks the venue has to turn up.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Saturday, 21 May 2005 18:56 (twenty years ago)

The person who picked the venue DID show up last time and couldn't find you!!!!

(PS: If Harvard Square then def. Charlie's Kitchen which is right near where Eliot St. hits Bennet St by New England Comics.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 22 May 2005 12:06 (twenty years ago)

Oh right, I thought it was someone else for no obvious reason. Charlie's Kitchen it is, from... 7? 8?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Sunday, 22 May 2005 22:24 (twenty years ago)

Charlie's kitchen on Mon at 7! yay!

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Sunday, 22 May 2005 23:11 (twenty years ago)

Attention Bostonians: explain me Moxie.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

I mean, is it supposed to taste like that? Is it a byproduct, like Cheetos Crispy clearly is?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 22:11 (twenty years ago)

Wait till you see our version of "bowling."

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

Moxie not a byproduct of anything but a deep understanding of the human condition. And it will not change its complex and earthy flavors to suite your unlearned taste buds.

Rhodia (Rhodia), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 01:24 (twenty years ago)

anyway - nice to meet you again (AFARRELL & Dan Perry), nice to meet you for the first time (Sterling Clover).

my favourite moment of the evening was the waitress hovering at our table, apparently to discover what Anthony Easton had to say about YMCAs.

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 27 May 2005 11:46 (twenty years ago)

My favourite moment is the Dan Perry bobble-head doll picture, which will appear in due time.
