Suggest a taker for my e-commerce dollars

Specifically, I'm looking for accessories: a belt, specifically. I'm a big guy (6'5", 240) and finding COOL belts and other things is hard when you're that big. I blame midget anemic hipsters.

So can anyone suggest a good e-retailer (or shop in Chicago) I should check out?

Doh! Amazon, dumbass.

fifteen years pass...

I'd like to quit Amazon as my first/easiest e-store. What are everyone's favorites for groceries (esp Asian groceries), housewares, etc? Is there a better thread for this that I couldn't find?

BUMP, goddamn it.

No answer, really. A month ago I wanted to order some Thai curry pastes and other Asian ingredients I can’t get here, and I never found a solution. For various personal + household goods I’ve just googled around. Bought a fish spatula from Crate & Barrel, for ex. I refuse to use Amazon.

Question though: if I want to purchase ebooks, can I get them somewhere not Amazon? This is prob a dumb q. I’ve always checked ebooks out from the library or on Kindle app.

I got Thai curry pastes, hoisin sauce and cheesecloth from Amazon last month. I'm not far from needing medium grain rice and good rice vinegar and I'd like to find a new source -- one that won't give me too much sticker shock.

I think the Kobo e-reader device is more indie focused and uses EPUB format which is more open than Kindles format

yes, love my kobo reader and there's a phone app too; the kobo store is very well stocked and if they don't have something then you can often get an epub direct from the publisher, and if necessary you can use calibri free software to convert from kindle format.

(don't know about 'more indie focussed', plenty of mainstream stuff available.)
