I hope that other people will feel free to use this thread for their own minor announcements as well.

My news is: I've just had my first cartoon-illustration-comic-thing printed in a magazine in about five years! I'm very proud.

jody the country girl doll (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 8 April 2005 08:39 (twenty years ago)

Well done artists and workers and buyers!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Friday, 8 April 2005 08:42 (twenty years ago)

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 8 April 2005 09:50 (twenty years ago)

I just got a refund of £300 from BT!!!

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 April 2005 09:59 (twenty years ago)

Oh, and speaking of BT guys, my housemate finally came home from India and dealt with the squatters who had taken over my house for the past week, grrrrr.

Adherents of the Repeated Kate (kate), Friday, 8 April 2005 10:07 (twenty years ago)

mark do you pay by DD for your bill? At the end of the year I always end up getting some kind of refund from BT because they've been overcharging me on my DD each period.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 8 April 2005 10:11 (twenty years ago)

In one.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 8 April 2005 10:12 (twenty years ago)

me and Tom have been asked to ancor the resonance fm coverage of a cultural evening at battersea arts centre. In other words our show is going well.

lukey (Lukey G), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:22 (twenty years ago)

and as predicted BT have just credited me £111, which is less than normal but goes to show their 'predicted' rate is pretty much off the mark again.

(This isn't really my good news but it's probably as good as it's going to get this weekend)

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

and well done Kate, i wish I knew what 'Plan B' was though, I don't think they sell it up our way.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:42 (twenty years ago)

ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED JODY BETH ROSEN?

if i am, no one told me about it.

jody the country girl doll (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:48 (twenty years ago)

Scratch the surprise party then.

Random good news -- more like random good vibes in my case! But April is turning out pleasantly and once work fully settles down I'll get to go into overdrive about a lot of things that have been hanging fire.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:56 (twenty years ago)

I got an 18 cent raise

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

Per hour or total?

Adherents of the Repeated Kate (kate), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

?!?!?!????

Ed (dali), Friday, 8 April 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

i red that as 18percent rise

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

I wish, Ste.

It's per hour.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:15 (twenty years ago)

It's annual raise time here, and my boss keeps dropping hints that a decent one (I mean, more than just cost-of-living) is on the way.

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:22 (twenty years ago)

I got 25% back in november, admittedly it was because that's what they ought to have been paying me in the first place.

Ed (dali), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:23 (twenty years ago)

i bought a black epiphone SG for 100 notes on ebay. it arrived yesterday and it rocks. so there.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:25 (twenty years ago)

I finally did my taxes yesterday, and thanks to being unemployed for 1/4 of the year, I'm actually getting a refund, about $185 worth! Also, it's Friday.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:25 (twenty years ago)

Lost keys for 2 hours from 2am to 4am, found them.

Got home, dropped Powerbook, freaked out when it said my Airport hardware didn't exist, took the entire thing apart with a boxcutter, realized I didn't have to, put it back together, put the card back in, and now the steel parts seem better aligned along the perimeter because of all my tightening.

In the past month my life has become more exciting, luxurious, and fun that it has ever been. Trust me, the details will just infuriate you.

LeCoq (LeCoq), Friday, 8 April 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

I just checked my account online and while I still don't really have much money, all my bills are paid, I have enough to pay rent, and will have enough left over to maybe do a couple of fun things this weekend.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 8 April 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

Heheh, that's pretty much my story, n/a! And fun things are indeed planned, so rah. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 8 April 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

two months pass...
Got one more comic published online:

http://capitolk.com/comicreview.asp

And have just been commissioned to do another for another new music magazine.

Oh yes, and Luxembourg asked me to do artwork for their next single. So perhaps this illustration sideline might actually go somewhere after all...

The Square Root Of Negative Two (kate), Thursday, 9 June 2005 10:20 (twenty years ago)

I love that, Kate! Yay for sidelines :)
