I once decided to re-arrange my office, but it took me until about 2 hours after I'd normally have left to sort it all out ('cos I couldn't fit everything in (along the walls) the way I thought I wanted to do it, so I had to move everything back).

So for the next 10 minutes I will spend my time powering down, packing my things, yapping to colleagues about the weekend plans etc

I do the laps around the office thing here, too. It's kinda built in a figure-8 manner, if I'm creative with the route I take, I can usually make it 2 or 3 times around with no one the wiser.

Now, if it's anything but a Friday, that's more difficult. For example, yestderday I spent a good 40 minutes helping my special lady friend pick out a swimsuit over IM. I totally got caught looking at v1ctoria's s3cret dot com in the process, but it was all good.

I can't just leave if there's nothing to do, because part of my job is in support - I have to keep my phone by me waiting for people to call up and report problems.

dreadfully bored. finish work in 13 minutes. then an hour's commute. then re-affixing a curtain rail in the bedroom. and no plans, interesting or otherwise, for the evening. pfft.

no plans = heaven for me.
― mom us (map), Friday, 15 July 2016 23:20 (nine years ago)
no plans but definite stupid chores and drudgery, ha. i would like true "no plans".
― jim in vancouver, Friday, 15 July 2016 23:20 (nine years ago)
i've been housesitting for a year. no roommates + air conditioning is so fucking luxurious. two more weekends to not go anywhere and enjoy the hell out of it.
xp oh yeah, there are always chores to do that turn "no plans" into dullness.
