PPS: I suppose i am bragging. Ah well.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:44 (twenty years ago)

i danced with a slight blonde girl last night / this morning. she wasnt exactly hot, but she danced very well, and smelled of nag champa incense and sweat

fe zaffe (fezaffe), Saturday, 9 April 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

I danced with one of my student senators last night and she announced that she "wanted to rape me"

then my friend cockblocked thankfully.... why does this shit only happen when i have a girlfriend?

The Scottish Restauranteer (ex machina), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:09 (twenty years ago)

I danced with several hot girls last night. Nothing came of it, sadly, as I was too drunk.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:14 (twenty years ago)

I did on Wed night in Dublin after the Interpol gig. Sadly she lives there and I live in Belfast, though we did swap numbers and email addresses. Not sure whether to email and say hi...

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:38 (twenty years ago)

I'm afraid to find out when Matt realized he was too drunk. But not too afraid to put the question out there.

I danced with a really cute girl about a month ago, in Brooklyn, but she already has two boyfriends and I'm going steady myself.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:43 (twenty years ago)

Of course that may have made the dancing part of the evening even better, in a way.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:44 (twenty years ago)

Oh btw, there was much "making out" as you Americans might say. Incidentally I kind of like that phrase but it makes me think of cheesy American teen dramas so I never use it w/out irony.

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

What do you say? "snogging"?

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

"reverse felching"

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Saturday, 9 April 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

"Tongue exploration service"

Plus-Tech Whiz Kid (Disco) (Barima), Saturday, 9 April 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

I danced with hot girls last night and there was making out and I'm happy with that. And to think I almost went to club Seals.

Plus-Tech Whiz Kid (Disco) (Barima), Saturday, 9 April 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

"pulling"

Which is also a crap phrase but it's what British and Irish people usually say. Or "smutting" but that's just me and my friends. Nice.

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Sunday, 10 April 2005 15:24 (twenty years ago)

I always assumed "pulling" just meant you hit on her and she ended up leaving w you.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:05 (twenty years ago)

Well yeah it can do. I suppose different people use it in different contexts.

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

I am bragging but last night I was on fire on the dancefloor. I was rocking the Soulboy-Goes-To-The-Disco look, an e and a big mist of 70s Man Musk.

How do you people dance? I keep to the Northern Soul, crisp precise arm movements, feet side-to-side, the odd handclap and when it's a good partner, spinning them round rock'n'roll style. I am not very good but I am enthusiastic. My good buddy Piscesboy goes for the arms in the air, head back, singalong style and I admire that a lot.

Affectian (Affectian), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

tracer i was there! and danced with her friend too. yeah.

last night a girl waited until i was waiting for the car service to show up to ask my name. wtf is that about?

hstencil (hstencil), Sunday, 10 April 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

she wanted to get in the car too, go back to your place, and possibly finger you.

phil-two (phil-two), Sunday, 10 April 2005 19:39 (twenty years ago)

It was my five year old daughter. Every so often she'd lose herself in the throng and burst into tears, but I'd find her again. I told her the club was a small place, but she said, 'yes, but it's big for a kid'. One of her kindy teachers was there, in a wig. That blew her mind.

moley, Sunday, 10 April 2005 19:56 (twenty years ago)

no, i don't think she did, phil.

hstencil (hstencil), Sunday, 10 April 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

ppl tell me i'm pretty good but part of it i'm afraid is they don't expect me to be a good dancer. Maybe. I've felt my dancing is sort of stale lately...I'm in a slump. How does one get out of a dancing slump? I'm just repeeating the same moves, formula, no life. (exceptions are: certain songs that set it off like make em say ugh, show me love, or the percolator)

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Sunday, 10 April 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

make em say ugh

show me love

the percolator

These all sound like dance moves! Maybe you can refresh your boogie vocabulary using them. Certainly it'll give you a break from 'Big fish little fish pudding in a box', or 'I'm a dwarf with two best mates' or whatever it is you're doing now.

moley, Sunday, 10 April 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

Dancing is practically the only thing I have a passion for and it shows, especially on a good night. Style? JB+MJ+BEP+street-breaking. For getting out of a slump, watch MTV more.

Plus-Tech Whiz Kid (Disco) (Barima), Monday, 11 April 2005 01:31 (twenty years ago)

I feel that. An Usher video usually has enough material for me to work with for a month.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Monday, 11 April 2005 01:41 (twenty years ago)

I also dance-off with The Lex every time we're out. It's important that I have a spectacle lemeent to my dancing to go along with the enjoyment and practice.

Plus-Tech Whiz Kid (Disco) (Barima), Monday, 11 April 2005 02:23 (twenty years ago)

today i waited for the bus for about an hour. about 35 min into the wait, a very cute boy showed up. by cute i mean, tight pants, HUGE brown eyes, curly brown hair, (i discovered later he is cuban) i looked at my watch and he asked how long i had been waiting. we had a talk on a particularly crowded bus, and he asked for my number as i was exiting.

Holly (an appletross), Monday, 11 April 2005 03:34 (twenty years ago)

did you dance on the bus? were the hangstraps artfully deployed?

kit brash (kit brash), Monday, 11 April 2005 11:50 (twenty years ago)

Did you feel the rhythm of the nightbus? Huh, huh, didja?
