Alice in Wonderland (1976 - the adult musical) Vs Alice in Wonderland (1951, the Disney film)

Disney's Alice in Wonderland is widely seen as a disappointment, but I think it is colourful and interesting - psychedelic and weird as hell.

Has anyone else seen the (barely) adult version of Alice in Wonderland starring "Young and the Restless" babe Kristine DeBelle? If you have not then do so immediately. It's a sex comedy/ musical with song and dance numbers and for lovers of weirdass films it is total genius. And DeBelle is soooooooo sexy.

Nonetheless, I give the nod to Uncle Walt's version.

I think Disney's Alice is beautiful!

My favourite version is Irwin Allen's 1970s one.

You're not talking about the Fiona Fullerton one are you? It has Dudley Moore in it, I think.

I also love Svankmajer's 1980s semi-animated version, Neco z Alenky.

I'm obsessed...

I got a DVD from the DExpress a week ago or so, for our Alice for obvious reasons.

I just bought a 1905 edition of Alice In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. It's so gorgeous...

I didn't much care for the characterisation of Alice in the Disney film, too bland compered to Carrol's uppity, prissy little madam in his Adventures in Wonderland. I enjoyed Channel 4's version of Through the Looking Glass from a few Christmasses ago, one of the best adaptations I've seen. Alice was played by Kate Beckinsale - far too old for the role I suppose but it's the best thing she's done.
