When was the last time you heard the theme from Chariots of Fire?

We howled with laughter for hours and anyone humming the first few bars of the tune had us cracking up for months.

Quite how a lime flavoured ice lolly smelt like Chariot of Fire we will never know - no explanation was ever offered which made the whole thing all the better.

Did anyone else ever think about having a cassette of this in the car, and when seeing joggers in the road, snap it in and drive alongside slowly while this was playing?

A few weekends back, while passing a horrid NON DOM RICH CUNT BASTARDS restaurant in Westminster which used to be a perfectly decent library, I heard the theme playing, accompanied by loud cheers; apparently someone in there had ordered £40K worth of booze or something.

Inside a room where patients were receiving chemotherapy. Pretty sick juxtaposition, if you ask me.

At the uni where I work it's played before every graduation ceremony along with other film score classics like the Star Wars march and that folky one from Lord of the Rings. I like to think of the graduands being inspired by the music to go out into the world and do great things.
