There is no hope for us. I could save this by turning it into a picture thread but then I would get people in my office asking me why there are a bunch of pics on my screen saying "HI DERE" and things like that. Lock thread, I'm going to listen to mp3s instead. ILE has failed me.

I prefer Ctrl-R. Even though its an extra keystroke, I don't have to move my hand to the top of the keyboard. Thus I save microseconds in gaining the most up to date version of ILE.

I might burn me a copy of ILE on CD for offline viewing when I am away from the internet!

Ctrl-R is better for me because it's the same across lots of things I use - Firefox, Galeon, Nautilus.

and using a two-key command looks like you're doing something slightly more complicated and you're a competent sort of person, whereas a one-key jab makes you look like you're refreshing a web page.

Most annoying program for refreshing, though: Lotus Notes and family. Refresh = f9. f5 = lock program / log off server. Gah!

Getting file info on a mac is apple-I, but within acrobat it's apple-D, which is duplicate file if you're in finder. So if I'm not paying attention there are copies of files all over my desktop.

I can't see how this thread helps when everytime i refresh this thread remains the same, just like all the others :(

ken c (ken c), Friday, 15 April 2005 08:23 (twenty years ago)

Yeah seriously those companies should get together and create a standard re refreshing. Ctrl-R makes sense as a global refresh key whereas F9/F5 definately does not.

As for the duplicate files dude DONT USE A MAC THEY ARE EVIL!

As for Ken C I always hoped you would post on my thread, now I have made the major leagues.
