In ILX time it's already my birthday

1. Grill burgers and sweetcorn out back for all and sundry. The special kind, with real ground chuck and the onion soup powder mixed into the meat.
2. Sing "Surfin' Bird" loudly and lustily during bowling alley karaoke at Maple Lanes. Or maybe "Ballroom Blitz" or, if sufficiently lubricated, "Suga Suga".
3. Go see my friend John's new R&B band down at the local tavern. They're called Kanguru Court, and it's their first time out. This is his "for the love of the music" band, a break from the tired covers joint he usually has to play in. My observation that, "Hey, it's spelled just like the title to that Guru Guru album!" was met with the middle-aged midwestern muso version of the gas face.

It's been kind of off-n-on between ILX and me this past year, but to all my pals and sparring partners around here, bottoms up!
