There's a great scene in the episode where Cliffy has to go to a postman's award party, and he invites both Carla and Diane accidentally for his date.

It's the bit where Diane has just accepted his offer and Cliff is really chuffed. Norm is all "Cliffy, think for a moment, what's wrong with this picture?" the camera pans onto Carla as she renters the bar but whilst still keeping Norm, Cliff, and Woody in shot - but they are all dead still.

It's brilliantly done, for a sitcom.

Anyway, funny show.

haha i just spotted a massive goof on the final season, the episode where Sam and the french guy are having a competition to see who can get the most girls phone numbers.

At the end of the competition sam moves from the corner of the bar and there plain to see is a cameraman trying to move himself out of shot. i can't believe this was left in.

ha! i may watch this again to try and catch that.

cheers is #1 sitcom of all time...

been years since i watched any cheers (is it repeated anywhere on freeview channels in UK ?).

no idea if it still stands up, but damn, for a few years this was my favourite tv program.

It stands up, as does Frasier which I've recently started watching again in repeats.

Haven't seen this show since I was a kid, but thinking of getting the DVDs.* Remember it having probably the best ever Jeopary crossover episode of any series (yes kids, this was a thing for a while). Some other great moments I remember: Woody's "Kelly" song (mentioned above, but classic), the fate of Rebecca's tea room, Sam rapping. Hoping the DVDs can be found cheap.

*i'd watch it on reruns but it never seems to be on anymore. Seriously, why does every single channel that typically runs these old shows only show Friends and Seinfeld and fuckingTwo and a Half Men these days?

Those same channels used to show nothing but Cheers and Who's the Boss reruns, and before that nothing but Three's Company.

Still see who's the boss and threes company (ugh) reruns 'round these parts. Never cheers anymore though.

When I was in high school, I could watch three Three's Company Reruns in syndication before my parents came home and took over the television. I did so much homework to the antics of Jack, Janet, and Chrissy (and Cindy) and Terri. No wonder my grades were mediocre.

Well, its not like Three's Company has ever been known to make anyone smarter.

Is it true that the show is coming off 4+ soon? I have all the dvds but streaming is so much easier (though the s01 "gay" episode is not streaming, notcicably)

looks like this is happening.
just watched a later ep from s9 and the display advises only 10 hours left.
guess i will have time to finish s9, and then hope i find the dvds out in the wild.

I guess they're migrating the show to Paramount+ to run alongside the Frasier reboot. Dammit! I have the DVDs, but the streaming pic quality was, if anything, better than the old DVDs, and also the drawer on our ancient DVD player doesn't always open.

And I'd only just convinced my partner to accompany me on a full rewatch of the show, which she's thus-far really enjoying.

yeah, I started a rewatch/watch of the stuff I had never seen before a few years back.
Started at the beginning had got near end of S9.
once I realised the situation, finished S9, watched one episode of S10, and then decided to just watch the last show as I had never seen it.
what a lovely way to end the show.
checked this morning, and yup, has all disappeared.

ugh v annoying, I had two left of season 3

i've been enjoying these. i know john is republican but he DID help build the stage at Woodstock, so, he's got hippie cred. can't believe he hadn't seen woody since the cheers days! its just nice to hear all three of their voices together. and john has good stories.
