'HI HO' HARASSER By ERIKA MARTINEZ, JOHN DOYLEand ZACH HABERMAN April 16, 2005 -- The yellow brick road ended in court after a Brooklyn man allegedly harassed a midget mother and her equally diminutive daughter, mocking them relentlessly with chants like "Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go." Joseph Izzo's campaign of hate culminated with his arrest Thursday after he spray-painted a yellow line outside the Brighton Beach home of 3-foot-8 Debra Shea and her 3-foot-6 daughter, Concelean Pegues — before telling them to "follow the yellow brick road," according to court documents.[...]He went on to call her "a little bitch," before threatening: "I'm going to kill you," according to court documents. "He sang, 'Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go' like we're dwarfs, not human beings," Shea told The Post yesterday. Izzo was not arrested after that incident, but he was collared on Thursday, two days after he allegedly used yellow spray paint to draw a line from the front of their house out into the street and extended it five houses down the block. When Izzo saw Shea, he allegedly told her to "follow the yellow brick road" — the song sung by the Munchkins in the classic "The Wizard of Oz" film. The criminal complaint said Izzo went on to call her a "welfare bitch," before yelling: "Look at the midgets! They are bringing in the f - - -ing n - - - - -s here! Here comes the circus..."

Prompting me to wonder what is the difference between a midget (which is used in the article) and a dwarf, and whether she is advocating that dwarfs are not humans, while she, a midget, is one. A: There is no real difference (according to the Little Peoples Assoc website). And so then I somehow ended up over here which was initially confusing. Swift has to answer for this.

How is this particular allusion any less offensive than the "hi ho.." line (overlooking the fact that the former is from "The Wizard of Oz" [munchkins] and the latter is from "Snow White" [dwarves])?

dear women of nyc, if you are raped by a notable person, dont worry, we will definitely win the case, or maybe lose it, or maybe not even bring it to trial, but heres the important part, your face will be on the front page of the new york post
